ebay 68 newyorker

I like this car. I'm a sedan guy though, I know, but I got 4 kids and it's much easier for them to get in and out with their own doors. The price is a bit steep for me, once again 4 kids.

It looks to be real clean. The nice thing about white is it shows rust easily. All of the 2 doors I saw had rust issues around the rear window. I would want detailed pictures inside and out of the rear window, from the trunk too.

If I had the coin I would be tempted.

ANYONE know this car? and if not, post your comments. Please omit wheel comments. thanks

OK, non wheel comments:

Nice to have a tilt/tele steering column.
Unusual to have buckets and a console in a New Yorker. More likely to find that in a 300.
Hope those accessory gauges on the console are removable without leaving holes behind.
From the few pictures posted, it sure appears to be a rust free or minimal rust vehicle.
Yes, the price is getting high, but the old adage of buying the best car you can afford still rings true.

The '61 Fury restoration, the CHP restoration and the '69 Imperial restoration are all, or going to be WAY more than the cost of buying (assuming one is available) a really good original car. This comment is not meant to disparage these and other members' restorations.

I would want more detailed photos as well but from what is presented, I rather like it. Short of the aftermarket gauges, nothing done that is irreversable.
Presently, the price is knocking on the door of what I would pay assuming everything was solid but I have a feeling the seller is banking on a lot more. .. just a feeling... regardless, I'd pop at it if I were in the market.

no, i couldn't go any higher than already bid, those tires/wheels would cost $1K to replace and that pushes that car pretty high IMO

with bidding ended, I browsed the pics on the auction.
I see that it needs a battery hold down, an engine bath on the underside, plus likely an idler arm for starters...
It was nice to see the exterior/interior defects pointed out though.
Otherwise it is a nice looking car.

Really nice car.

yeah, your probably right, I wouldn't mind buying it at the bid price, I have two cars and something would have to go, not for the sake of money. just parking space.
