need two front door pulls for a 71 Plymouth fury....must be in good condition...
these are the strap pulls above the door handles....color not important

no unfortunately those are the wrong ones..they have the long attachment ends,,,need the ones with the short attachment ends ...thanx kindly though

The door pulls like the original ones on your 1971 SFGT are the early ones and they are very hard to find anymore unless they look like yours do currently - cracked. If you have ever taken one of these apart, you will find small strips of cardboard layered on top of each other so they slide when the door pull is pulled outward away from the panel when used to close the door. The cardboard of course breaks and then puts stress on the vinyl, which then also cracks. Very cheap, poor design. I know that no current suppliers have any NOS ones available any more and none has the late 1971 versions either. They dried up a long time ago.

But the Chrysler 300 club now has on their reproduction list to remake these early pulls because they were used on the 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst models, and everyone with one of those cars needs them. I don't know just how soon they will be available, but they will come. When I see them available, I will let you know Critter. I won't forget since I have been frustrated for some time that these just don't exist anymore in good shape. So be a little patient. I am also lobbying Bob Baker to remake these as well, so we will see what develops. Stay tuned.

Don't get any ideas critter....

Bob would these be the same as my gold one pictured above?...still need to find a set to complete a obligation to another member here and sevnt300 is awol it seems as l cant reach him...:(

Sorry for the late response I only occasionally follow postings I find interesting on this site and I rarely sign in to look at PM's or alerts as I am not actively trying to sell or buy anything at the moment. I didn't hear back from you and was told that someone had given you a set back in August so I didn't follow up.

If you are still interested I do still have the pulls, I will try to dig them up this weekend, double check the condition and get you pictures.

still looking for door pulls if anyone has a good set...thanx

I am sorry that my door pulls ended up having the flexibility of a 47 year old part.

You are probably aware of this but in case you are not, the pulls that you need can be found on '70 & '71 300s, (2drs and 4 drs), '70 & '71 New Yorkers, (2drs and 4 drs), and 1971 Sport Furys (2drs and 4 drs), as well as on 1971 Sport & Custom Suburbans.

Good Luck!

Mind you though that in early 1971 there was a mid-year change across all lines to the cheaper and thinner rubber pull straps with end caps sporting wood accents. So late 1971 models won't be of help here.

Did someone figure a way to reproduce these? Replace the cardboard slices with heavy duty plastic, if you will, anyone. Please.

I'd think there would be a market for a few hundred. There are over 200 '70 Hursts out there, most of them with crapped pull handles. Add to that another 200 regular 2 door Chryslers & Sport Furys, and you have your market segment.

(Mine are in perfect shape. But then the car only has 74K miles on it.)

Be sure not to use them then! I will check on the progress of the reproductions with the Chrysler 300 Club if I can find the right person to ask.
