Factory A/C rebuild in a '66

I remember slobbering over this car at Carlisle last year. It was truly amazing. Is this car you are looking at the same car?

No that was a loaded NYer. This is a rather modestly equipped 300, but for me the must have A/C for a second C-body.

That NYer at Carlisle had me drooling too. As I have stated here before, I have always loved 4 door hard tops. The lack of a B pillar gives it such a clean, free flowing look. The 300 you are looking at seems to be a well cared for beautiful car that many of us here would love to have. As for the A/C system, many parts were the same through a few model years so parts shouldn't be an issue. You might find all the system needs is a recharge of freon. Good luck in your pursuit of this 300.

This thread makes me feel like I've been hit by a bus. I've spent the last 6 months drooling over this guys 66 300 vert, to extent that it never occurred to me that he'd ever look for anything else. Now I can't stop drooling over this 4 door! Killer couple of rides!

Try coldhose.com for hose and fittings. Last summer I spent $48 dollars there for hoses and fittings and spent $15 dollars at the local truck parts store to crimp 3 hoses.

Officially looking at this car on Thrusday. It might be fate, I schedule a stay at a vineyard for a couple of nights with my wife, back in December. We are driving right past where the car is located.

He got the car out of storage last weekend, so a test drive will now be included.

Only negative, I thought, was my wife will be with me, but she is not against the car, when I showed her pictures. She even said what are you going to call her, Goldie is already taken. :)

Maybe you could name the new car "Mr. Gold Member."

Amazing car!

I seen that NY'er at Carlisle.....nice!

I thought so too, Bob, but the car in question is a '66 300 - not a New Yorker. I think Mike is buying it, so he can have some extra tail lights and turn signal lenses laying around. . .

I had my A/C hoses for my 78 NYB rebuilt by these guys. Fabricated and returned in less than 24 hours.

Well I made the trip to see the hardtop. Mechanically outstanding, he has owned the car for 20 years and was a Chrysler mechanic. Super solid rust and ding free body. Paint thin in a few spots. He has rebuilt a strong 440 with a performance cam and TNT set up, not original engine, but came with a 440.

Great guy and a definite Mopar guy. This would be a great driver but not really for me. I couldn't leave it alone, and enjoy it as it is.

I took a few pictures to focus more on its current condition.

I just saw that car relisted. I'm surprised you let it go. Somebody is gonna advertise it (inter)nationally and filp it. Even my ABE co-workers have been looking at this one. Too many cars right now, or I'd own it.

Somebody will get a great car, just bad timing, too many irons in the fire.
