Hey guys! I was just curious if anyone else has had a problem like mine. Yesterday my gas guage quit working. It just sits on E with the red light blinking. I checked the connection at the tank and it seemed fine. My question is, is it more likely to be the sender? Or the guage itself? I had the tank out last year when I ran new lines. Took the sender out and it looked good! As well as the tank.

Best way to check this is disconnect the wire from the sending unit and connect it to a good ground. Turn the key to on, and if the gauge goes to full, it is in the sending unit.

And make damn sure the ground strap from sending unit to car is still attached and has clean connection...

So I tried what you said traintech55 and guage didn't move at all. It actually does move a little bit when connected. So does this mean it's the guage itself?

It is either the gauge or the voltage limiter gone bad. Do you have a F.S.M for it?

Not a factory one no. But I have a Chilton's for 1975 I'll check that out tomorrow. Otherwise I do have a complete dash from a '76. I'll maybe check out and see if the gauge is the same. Glad to know I don't have to drop the tank again!
