Bummer he has to sell, I just got measurements for my Sonoramic linkage from him a couple weeks ago. Lots of love went into that car.

2.94 open rear with over 400 horsepower..... I bet it will leave a single black mark from Minneapolis to the Wisconsin state line....

Great rig. The investment he made paid off in the result is seems. It bet its a fun car to drive too.

I saw a remark in his writeup I resemble about needing three other cars to make one good PK rig. That's what I did ..on my 68 VSP car AND too many others :)

a few more for posterity of this one. $25K is tall .. I've not seen one of this era do that but if one has a chance hopefully this one can make a run for it.

The rims are from the 1980's. One would have to research the type of emergency equipment. Although my '70 Fury III ex-WSP car was a marked car I choose to restore to clean top unmarked car. I also added real (not painted) red and blue 2001's in place of the high beams. WSP in 1970 was all blue Twin Sonic lightbar if I remember correctly. My radio and siren/light controller is period correct and works. The radar unit and Megaphone are there also. Remember in these years equipment was used maybe ten years from car to car before being replaced.

Please educate us. What do you see wrong?

Quick rundown of what I immediately see, Aside from all of the mods he listed:
-Wrong Alternator (they had a leece neville)
-Leece-Neville voltage regulator should be where the "siren" (car alarm?) is...
-NMSP cars were ordered with factory air conditioning - missing here
-Wrong wheels AND hubcaps
-Wheels were painted body color (white)
-Wrong steering wheel (should be basic black)
-Wrong horn ring (should be a full horn ring)
-Wrong spotlight (incorrect for the time period)
-Could Be Wrong interior color for NMSP based on the few I've seen (Brown, originally. But blue could've been ordered too, though)
-Make believe paint scheme - they were all WW1 White in these years. They didn't do black front doors in '67 (That was a short lived Texas DPS thing). If he has a picture proving otherwise I'd like to see it.
-Probably Make believe siren and light control

Thanks for the info. With a little research, I noticed the doors right away and should have noticed the wheels. I still love the car and would buy it if I had the means. Cool pic I found.

Still a very nice car.

EOD, this is where i am too. still a cherry sled and the outcome was great.

i also noticed it had "non conforming" content too, in addition to what he pointed himself. but it didn't bother me .. admittedly though i did NOT know about the door color - it gets a "demerit" for that I guess cuz that's usually easier to get "right" from an old photo.

Sometimes getting ALL the fine details right (eg. treatment like MrMoparCHP's 1969 is getting), and being able to PROVE you got them right with 40+ year old documents (if they still exist), is very challenging.

Then even if you KNOW what you need, you can't find the "correct' parts -- particularly the police only stuff and specific to the department that owned it.

when you do get ALL that right, you can take satisfaction in a hard job well done. ya just do the best you can. if perfection is what you seek it can be done but again usually is a daunting undertaking, or a labor of love. :)

If you wanna sell it later, well like any other negotiation, buyer may/may not value the authenticity and attention to detail that went into putting it all together.

anyway, realizing a $25k selling price just got a little "taller" for this one to the extent it is not "correct", but STILL a darn nice car and I hope it does well. I salute the seller for taking it on in the first place.

I won't criticize the incorrect police equipment, but to me the HP manifolds, driverside B-body HP manifold, incorrect air cleaner and the late 70s slotted wheels are a bit of a stray that would've been pretty easy to do better. Maybe not exact correct wheels, but at least non-slotted wheels with these caps. But only C-body guys would notice that.

And what is this? Looks like casting flash, but doesn't match the parting line.

My new big criticism - this text. I hope he gets his $25k so he can buy some paragraphs next time.

After some more thought, I want to say:
The best thing about this car is that it's here, as-is, regardless of some little things that aren't 'right'.
This whole car is right.
It's been saved from who knows what other fate might have fallen it.
And he did more with it than I could ever dream of.

PCV, valve cover studs, rear engine ground, throttle return spring bracket, chrome breather, and not sure but,,, wouldn't cop cars come with a 2 belt alt drive? Wicked car!!
