School me on C-body truisms

There are actually a few ....Not all of us are cheap, not all are old and not all wear hats ...... All of the three are relevant in terms
I guess that's true Dave, I don't remember ever seeing you wearing a hat. :D

I hate hats. All the photos of me at Carlisle last year I have a hat on..... my wife was insistent because of the potential of a sunburn .

Damned if you don't! Observant ain't I?
It's a good thing for you that you have a wife that's looking out for you.

She is one of the best there is
You did just fine, all of your family I had the pleasure of meeting were great.

Thank you for that, like most of us you get the last word... even when it's "Yes dear".

I use the word cheap, like I have a choice. I suppose I am in fact "low budget"... Like most of us, I only have so much I can get away with spending. If I get too crazy spending on something I won't have the ability to do or spend on something else.

I'm not poor mouthing, and I love these cars... but I like lots of cars. Since the thread is "C Body truisms", I suppose one of my biggest truths is I can afford to play here. I got darned lucky to have what I have and I know it. I would still be looking for a car if I was after something in a higher value class. I have found other Formal Imperials and NYBs I could have owned, but they wouldn't have been better than what I have. If I were to have "settled" on a Fuselage or a Slab side beauty, I would have loved it too... but my Formal itch wouldn't have been scratched.

I agree with Stan, especially the definition of fair.

I think most can agree on wildly over or under priced but when moderately over or under priced, it becomes subjective.

hear hear

I hate hats ... unless i'm out in the sun for an extended period. Then I wear a booney hat to keep the sun off my nose, ears, and back of my neck and to keep sun and potentially rain out of my eyes. I was in FL last week and used my booney for both sun and rain

OK back to the topic. It depends somewhat on where your are driving. It has been 30+ years since I was in Clawson, but if I remember, there is not a lot of heavy traffic. Dual master cylinders start to appeared throughout all Mopars in 1967. If you are driving in heavy traffic like I am in Chicago, you really appreciate power brakes, with disc up front. Also shoulder belts show up "standard" in the 70's. I like hardtops, none of the issue with a soft top, but all the air flow you can want. Find the best rust free car you can. You can replace glass and everything that is secured with a bolt or a nut, a rusted body and frame, not so much, plus painting now a day is expensive with all the regulations. Remember, there will always be another car out there, but if you find what you want, don't wait too long, buy it, scummy flippers will get it and jack up the price by several grand. From your avatar and comments, I think you would like a 67 - 68. Good luck and if you decide on a make/model, let us know so we can watch for you.

I own a 65 Fury and I do like it, but out of the years... if I had a choice I'd love to find a 65/66 300. I'm a sucker for interiors and they look good inside and out. They have to have the best dash out of any of them (well the Chrysler dashes as a whole... I think they all used the same dash). Tied for 1st would be a 70/71 Sport Fury. But I think they are all pretty cool.

It is a great dash, but for me, it's #2 to the '60-'62 Chrysler Astral Dome dash - the best in my opinion of all - I mean ALL, makes models, name it.

Sorry, I was referring just to the C bodies. If we are including forward look then yes, absolutely. Gorgeous, along with most of the FL cars, including the 61 Fury. The AstroDomes are great, but I also think the 1960 Imperial Dashes (not sure what the term would be for them) are amazing as well.
