I'll do a full thread showing all of the parts and where I got them once I get the darn thing together.

Right no I'm having a hard time getting the compressor to fit. The back of it hits my throttle return spring bracket. This ends up rotating the compressor counter clockwise and keeping it out about an 1/8".

Big_John or anyone else could I get a picture of how you got your compressor to clear the return spring bracket.
Below are a couple of pictures.

This also is going to cause a pulley misalignment.

Thanks for any and all help.

Kevin,
I appreciate the thought. I'll have to reread the instructions that come with it and the pictures I printed from BPE's website. With a little bit of effort they could've provided much better instructions than they did.

Lol. I've got one of their bracket kits on the Poly in my Polara.

Instructions used a b-body for reference which was OK until you get to the alternator part and it hits the inner fender when you swing it off their bracket. I had to modify the original alternator bracket so it could live with the BPE bracket and put the alt in the original position.

Here's a pic I found...compared to it, you appear to have spacers that are moving the compressor back. Do your belts line up that way?

Here's a pic of the brackets and how it's mounted on my car.

The throttle bracket was handled by bending the tab and turning the bracket slightly. I remember thinking to myself "find something better" and I forgot about it until I looked at it this morning.

The compressor is still to far forward. Even with the spacers like they are. I believe due to the throttle return bracket.

It looks like I have the spacers the same as Big_John.

I think I'm going to pull the throttle return spring bracket tonight. Hopefully then I'll be able to get the compressor mounted. If that works I'll attempt to fab up a new bracket for the return springs, one that doesn't angle so far forward. I'll let you know what I come up with. My hope is to get everything dry fitted so that I can make arrangements to get the hoses made.

Factory A/C cars had the throttle return spring mounted to the compressor. I would remove the spring bracket and reinstall the bolt, then mount the compressor and brackets, then make up a new one. All you need is for it to be in a straight line with the carb linkage.

Mine is still in a fairly straight line with the linkage. It looks funny, because of the slight angle and the picture exaggerates the angle.

I removed the bracket and it sits back and down like it should. On the agenda for tonight is to make a new bracket and and to start test fitting everything else up. I'm having a bear of a time getting the thermal expansion valve off, ugh...
