Thread for Craigslist morons

Lots of pics now and it looks fantastic with the exception of some slight discoloration from rust.on the white top around the back window. Ironically the pic you posted is no longer included in the ad.

This car has been up here before in the for sale thread. Has been on Craigslist for close to a year now as I am familiar with it.

Saw ths just now. Since it's a 40 Chevy, I know who this guy is. This guy is one of the reasons I dissociated myself from the car show scene here. I often wanted to punch his piehole shut. And he's still whining after at least 10 years of being taken to the cleaners about every six months by every car he shows up with.

Rat Rod, Hot Rod Show Car for Sale

I felt the need to let those of you who want to buy a car in todays world know a few IMPORTANT things.
1) Never Take ANYONES word for condition of a car, no matter how it looks on the outside or how nice they are.
2) Never Buy a Car with an open title in someones name other than the seller. (WHY?) Because the title can be a duplicate or branded and you won't know until you try to title it in your name then the seller you got it from is gone and OH WELL!!!, you are screwed.
3) RAT Rods..Wow...I can't say enough about these. Many great fabricators build these but most on Craigslist are built by people who have no business touching a torch or welder. ( I say MOST but not all....Don't want to offend the actual talented guys doing these)
Hey people...WAKE up!!! Peoples lives are at stake when you lie to someone saying it is a great driver and can drive it anywhere..Oh the best one was..."My wife drives this all over and I wouldn't let her drive something bad.." That guy must have wanted to be a Widow...The steering knuckle fell off the shaft...no set screw in it..
All I am wanting to pass on is that when you buy something, PLEASE check everything and don't take anything for granted..

I am writing this because I was burned buy a guy that SAID the car was built professionally..BS!!!!. Bad Welds covered by bondo and a total piece of ****!!!. Not worth $500...Very unsafe, a set pin visible on top of leaf spring to hold front axle center..it was literally glued on for looks..U bolts?..that's a laugh, they were two straight bolts that had the head cut off and bent under the axle then spot welded badly that didn't hold up to a screw driver prying on it. Basically front end was not attached.
The things I have mentioned wouldn't be noticed unless put on a lift and inspected very closely..I highly recommend to all buyers buying old cars to do this before you pay out your hard earned money to a jackleg that has no conscience.
A big difference between a PROJECT and a Daily Driver..
You all be safe and enjoy the nice rat rods and hot rods that are out there but be aware of the really bad dangerous ones sold by people claiming they are show cars and professionally built. If they have sold more than 5 cars, they know what they have and know the real condition..Its up to you to sort through those liars.
