2017 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals July 14-16

A short story, sad but true. Last night I helped a gentleman load seats into a '58 Dodge Lancer 2 door that he was trailering back to WV. The Lancer had been loaded with rare, loose chrome trim that he put on the grass near gate 1, intending to place it back into the cabin after the seats were loaded. The trim was accidentally left behind, and he didn't realize until this evening. There must have been a thousand people walking in the grass across from Hamilton Elemenry School during the day; when another friend went back to look, but the chrome was long gone. :(

A sad story but not uncommon where you are in an unusual situation, mind going a million miles an hour, stressed out and you miss the obvious stuff happening in your immediate environment. Don't ask me how I know.

Also met one of my hero's..

Stan was there??

:p

It was great meeting up with everyone again, and meeting Nick and Zac (monaco75) and Zack (67fury) for the first time.

Question, who's Newport is this? I liked the look.

Keep the pics coming guys!

Be interesting to know what attendance numbers they get this year. Looked like the largest show field i've seen. The place was packed, ran out of programs, handy as it list every vender and gives location, and traffic backed up RT-11 through the toll booths sat morning. I still haven't covered the entire swap or show fields!

Considering it should have been taken over 24 hours ago now...

I'm #21........

BTW, it was a pleasure seeing you guys, got lucky enough to even have conversations with Carsten, Will, Jer and Dave. Missed ya Matt and Bob, you need to get your butts back here next year! Jer still owes me a couple of St Pauli Girls, guess we will try again next year. One of these days Stan needs to make it up so we can all sit around and argue about everything under the sun.

The company (IMO) is more of a draw than the cars.

We made it home a little while ago.

As usual, we had a good time... It was great to see the familiar faces and meet some new ones too!

We stayed kind of low key... This was our first trip anywhere since Mrs. Big John's spinal surgery in April. All went well for her, so it was a good trip. We left a little early Friday and then packed it up Saturday afternoon for the ride home with a halfway point overnight stay.

The car performed as it should for the most part... The voltage regulator may be on its way out... I noticed a couple funny voltage readings after a lunch stop... It went away and things are good for now. The previous owner's insistence on using exhaust manifold gaskets came back to haunt me with a new exhaust leak.

I never really got around to taking pics.. Sorry...

I'm 12 in the pic.
