Well, two weeks ago I got an E-bay link from a fellow board member regarding my quest for a C-body 4spd hump. Last week it arrived in the mail :)

As some of you already know, I had bought a 318 3spd Suburban from 1971 less drivetrain and I have every intention of converting it into a 4spd.

I testfitted the hump and marked the cutting area. I think I might just replace a few areas of the floorpan while everything is out...

I will try and update the progress in this thread

nop superfly tnt , using a thick bore casting block and crank from a 413 ind motor , and yes shipping would out weight the benny's . but aren't you planning something for it ? ''a'' is a 64 useage block . theres a lot of 64 guys that would love to have it . i have an 'a'426 block as well .

A is 65. 64 is V.

thanks for that . thought wrong . well now that sheds a different lite on things , got my block with some other stash of parts . its berried although deep , for save keeping . so i'll have to get it on berried and take a look to see a ''v'' or an ''a'' . my back is on the fritz right now . it will be awhile , everything is just piling up right now .

Well, it has been a while. I had some time off to spend with my daughter, who was born on January 26 :)

This weekend I cut the floor and test fitted both hump and shifter. The latter I testfitted to check clearance with the dash. It still needs to go up a bit but everything looks good. According to the pics I saw of the 71 Polara I should have no problem. I am using a used 71-up B-body bench seat shifter with the box at the original mounting location on the tailshaft. I could have used a 70 B-body bench seat shifter but since the car is a late 71, it didn't seem to be 'correct' haha
