Can we some pics of the car? It will help us decide. Hehe.... just kidding but we really love car pics here. Someone here can help I'm sure.

Very nice!

Size may depend on what look you want:

White letter or black sidewall, I'd go P225/70-R14

White stripe, I'd go with P215/75-R14

Were they stamped "14x6" or you measured "14x6"? Just curious, as the sped rim width is stamped inside the wheel on the center area between the beads. Possibly followed by a two-letter suffix, denoting the style of the bead.

14x5.5 Rallyes were on the 2nd-Gen E-body cars. Reason I know is that I bought a set from a guy who'd sold the car to a friend of mine. A 340 car, so I suspected it'd have 14x6 from the factory, but they were 14x5.5s.

There were also some 15x6.5s that came on the '76-era Charger SE. I got a set of them out of the salvage yard, about 20 years ago. They replaced the W23s on my '70 Monaco as "roll-around" wheels/tires. They look better on that car than I expected.

The Furys of your vintage would have had 8.25x14s, very possibly. The P215/75R-14 would probably be fine. Just run the air pressure more like 30-32pai for good measure. At one time, years ago, I had some P225/75R-14s on my '67 Newport. They were the same physical dimensions as the H78-14s that replaced the 8.55x14s that were on it from the factory. That was when we could still find that size!

Be very careful. I put a set of those on my '62 New Yorker. After all, it came from the factory with 14s. Huge mistake!!! They did not clear my drums and locked them up something fierce!! They would not work without spacers, even then, braking was an experience. I ended up putting on 15 in. Road Wheels and the problem was gone.

Good Luck! But, if it were mine, I'd sell those and try to find some 15s.

I am REALLY liking this '68 Fury, the white w/red int. is real sharp. These fastop Furys seem to work a lot better without the vinyl top, but that's just me. If you do decide to switch to 15 inch. wheels, you might also consider a set of Magnum 500's, which came out in '67, they were optional on most C-bodies that year, and probably for '68, so you'd be ostensibly switching to something that was probably available from the factory when it was originally bought. Even if not, they have a good period correct look.

The Chrysler Magnum 500s were typically 14x5.5 Ford used the 15x7 and 14x6 sizes on Mustangs. I found two pair (1 pair of Chrysler stamped 14x5.5s, 1 pair of Ford stamped 14x6s) back when the used Ford 15x7s were selling for about $150.00 each. Still have them.

For sale?

I got a set of the 15x6.5 Charger SE wheels, put some new whitewalls on them (P225x75R-15) to use as "rollers" for my '70 Monaco as an easier way to deal with things. The original W23s and "flat" tires were taken off. I was surprised at how nice they looked on the car.

When the Rallyes were new, I wasn't very impressed wit them as the Magnum 500s were "the thing". In later years, they doo look better to me. I like the earlier center caps, though, compared to the later ones.
