Would anyone out there be able to tell me where a good decent set of taillight bezels for a 66' 300 can be found? any leads would be appreciated.
. And I thought I was having fun finding good trunk inserts for my 66 Polara! It is not unheard of buying a complete car just for the taillights....they are that scarce...good luck though I hope you find a set actually I hope you find 300 sets and start selling them to your forum friends
Probably hold up as good as the originals did.@bobfist has been reproducing some plastic lenses.
C body 1970 plastic reproduction Sweden
Just thinking out loud... Maybe the diecast trim could be cast in plastic and vacuum metalized.
I’m definitely in, anyone else? Is there anyone? What happened to the original dies?Well lets see, the outside trim is pot metal, left and right are different. The lenses are two pieces each side. So there is an awful lot of work for someone to try and reproduce. Now if we could get a list of how many would be interested, we might be able to get someone to make up a batch for us at an affordable price.
What are the other topThey are one of the top five parts on the unobtainable list. If you do find a set be ready to give up your first born male child. If you find someone who is reproducing them PLEASE share with the rest of us 1966 300 owners.
Whatever I'm looking for at the moment..........What are the other top
Four?
Original dies are always scrapped or used to make something else.I’m definitely in, anyone else? Is there anyone? What happened to the original dies?

The 1966 300 tail lights are at the top of the list. Then 1967 Polara Tail lights, then 1967 Fury III tail lights, (oh wait that makes six). What are the other top

I managed to scrape a very dirty set of 67 Monaco taillights for 25 bucks. Missing the chrome inner trim, light cracking basically everywhere but still in slightly better condition than mine which someone used as an ashtray at some point. Still haven't decided if they will be made to work or if they'll be a wall hanging. The 1966 300 tail lights are at the top of the list. You use the same rating system I do! "Let's see, that crack isn't as bad as mine, that hazing won't be seen from 20 feet, paint might be a little worse, but the chrome is less pitted than what I'm taking off." Had that discussion with myself a month or so ago.I managed to scrape a very dirty set of 67 Monaco taillights for 25 bucks. Their is a guy in Australia reproducing the 1966 300 front turn signal lenses. They are supposed to be an excellent piece for $300.00 for both lenses. I would love to get a list going of how many would want the tail lights. If we got enough people together we might be able to persuade him to tool up for a batch. Here is the real question. Would mediocre replicas be acceptable? Or only OEM quality?
