Hello,

I'm in search of a new antenna mast for the power antenna of my 72 Imperial.
Does anyone know where I can purchase this?
Mopar part # 2771994.

Thank you,

Thanks for your replay Ross, only I already bought 2 power antennas, both with a broken mast.

Is the nylon cord broken? Maybe this will help. Been keeping this idea on the backburner, thanks commando1.

Time for an update.
It appears to me after disecting the unit down to the last rivet, that the Mopar and the FoMoCo motors are the same.
The difference is in the mast assemblies, i.e. the lengths.
If the motor works, the plastic cord can be replaced using . 085 weed whacker line. .085 is perfect. In the Electrical Service Manual, there are detailed instructions for the replacement
of the cord.
In the case of the 74-78 C-bodies, the unit must be replaced by an identical unit of the same length because of the mounting location and very limited space allocated to it. I cannot see an aftermarket unit fitting in there.
I was fortunate in finding a very good used power antenna. $100 vs. what appears to be the only NOS unit out there for $300. Ackk... It is working great.

Yes, the white plastic/nylon cord shown in my picture is broken.
Can you tell me where I can find the Electrical Service Manual? Never thought on using a weed whacker line but for sure I'm going to try it, thanks!

I've got a complete operational antenna and I think there is a new mast in the box with it. All my parts are loaded in the truck for the trip to Ocala next week. I'll check it when I unload there.

UPDATE: It's actually no the mast that's broken but the white plastic/nylon cord shown in my picture.
When I check Big_John's link, it seems that this nylon cord is not available anymore. Does anyone here has some experience using weed wacker line instead?

Hello,

I tried .085 and .130 weed wacker lines, both not working correctly, the nylon cord always jams (don't know if that's the correct word).

Is there anyone who can help me with this please?
What's the correct thickness of weed wacker line I should use? Can you give me a brand I should purchase? Is there another solution to replace the nylon cord with?

Thank you,
