Very cool. That is now the 4th 426W '65 Monaco with an automatic that I know of, mine is still the only 4-speed known. Wish my quarters were as nice.

swapping in a 426 wedge motor a833 4spd into my 65 880 rag , got these parts to handle the 4spd

swap . i know the tunnel hole is not right , i'll live with it . using an 413/426 indust block and crank . and going with a 143 t flywheel 11'' clutch an bellhousing .

If I'm not mistaken . . . this looks like the car which was for sale years ago (~20) by a fellow doing business in NY as "Speed Greco Enterprises". Have one or two pics of it around here somewhere . . . looked to be in about the same condition back then. A Carolina car . . . if I remember correctly. Yeah, I'd like a 426W car, too . . . but no room for another project!

commando1 , that from a 66 fury , ovaled hole , 65 is round i'm told . guess if its an issue i could make a hole adapter to go round on the shifter boot .

I can't one hundred percent guarantee it, but I'm reasonably sure the 65 Polara used the same one you have.

Just take your console out and check!
You're forgetting my car came with an auto..... I'm the one that bastardized/customized it. Mine's got one from a 64 Sport Fury that didn't fit well and was cobbled in there.

I do know that the cars that had the round shift levers had either this shape hole

or this this shape hole

Which year got which one, I have never figured out.

Yup the tunnel is the same as a non 4 speed, the factory hump looks like it was added it later down the assembly line, as there is some tar type sealer tape on it.
