I always thought my Butter Beans where pretty good. I guess I'll find out for sure in a few hours. See how many I get food poisoning

I’m on turkey duty, the pressure is on!
Happy Thanksgiving guys!
Btw in 2 years it’ll be 400 years since the pilgrims set foot on the Cape.:usflag:

We go to my brother inlaws for dinner. Mrs. Big John is in charge of making pies... She made a chocolate cream, pecan and sweet potato pies.

My Dad had a good tradition and I have tired over the years to follow it... You make a reservation and go out to eat. I get met with some resistance, mostly from those that sit in the living room while others do the work. My Dad figured out that it was just too much work for my Mom and she should be able to enjoy the holiday too.

Going to my brother inlaws is fine... The food is always amazing... But I don't care for the sitting around and screaming at the TV... I've pointed out that the guys on the football field can't hear them, but that fact seems to be ignored.

I like to get out of town.
Avoids all the invites for dinner and the insisting you take all the left overs home. Too many relatives just don’t take a polite “no thank you” very well.

I am working ("fancy" restaurant) if you go out for your meal, consider throwing a few bucks extra to your server, they are missing a family gathering, it will be appreciated. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.

I always tip well anyway, but I do a little "extra" on Thanksgiving because of that.

I always get lucky on thanksgiving. My kids celebrate my birthday today. What a combination, Turkey AND Birthday Cake. YUMMY.

We're celebrating until tomorrow and Saturday so fortunately I won't be abused by those desiring to watch the "game" today. My TV doesn't stop on the NFL anymore. Tomorrow is at the in-laws and Saturday is at our place. The TV will not be turned on. Family time is to catch up not sit staring an electronic device. We might do something to entertain all of the youngsters though.
