Hey folks,
71 New Yorker needs a new ignition switch (the one on the column activated by the little steel rod).

Having one hell of a time finding it even online. Can you guys share where you found yours? Or does anyone have a spare, working original for cheap?

Thanks
Trav

Hey Trav,
Do you have a picture? Tho I'm not familiar with yours, some of those column switches are the same as the trucks. Just a thought. I bought a brand new one at a swap meet for my truck and it was boxed and labeled for a chev truck.

Is the "unobtainium" issue that your column is a tilt-wheel column? Non-tilt column switches seem to be "everywhere", and look nothing like your picture.

1970-71 Chrysler Parts book Group 08-35-59 Switch, Ignition and Starter
PDCY Tilt only and Tilt/Telescope columns #2947719
PDCY Non-Tilt columns #2947486 (looks like the pictures in RockAuto)
(same numbers in the 1972 parts book, with the only Tilt-only columns showing for the R/W B-body cars?)
(same numbers in the 1973 parts book, with Tilt-only and Tilt/Telescope switches being the same switch, with no R/W B-body tilt cars listed. Apparently the B-body tilt column listing was in error?).

Hope these numbers might help in your search!

I Googled "Chrysler 2947719" and some results happened. Also, a part number cross-over for ACDelco (C1413). And one NOS for $125.00, among others. I'll probably need one for my '70 Monaco, so you're NOT alone!

Hey, I'm going through this same struggle now.
Question, once you unbolt the switch from the column does the switch just pull off of the actuator rod? I'm afraid to attempt this too vigorously.
