In 1968, the Sport Fury had red paint on the center panel that is attached to the trunk lid, creating the illusion that the tail lights wrap around in a loop.
The other Furys did not have that red paint.
I want to add that red paint to my Fury III. Anyone know what paint I should use?
Thank you.

I have the opposite of what you describe, so I wonder what options drive that ?

I was thinking of testors model paint, but not sure myself.

I also have been thinking about getting a light section out of a junked charger and doing a mod . . .

Buy the red paint that is made for the rear trim on the late '60's Barracudas. It is available in spray cans.

If Chrysler used a paint in a particular place, in some of the paint chip charts, those "special location" paints are sometimes listed on the second page of the chip chart page for the particular model year. Might need to go one year back or forward, sometimes. Kind of like their listings for the trunk paint.

Might be neat to find some reflectorized tape of the correct width?

There is a Brite Red Accent Stripe paint listed in the 68 Dodge Polara Service Manual. Not sure if it would be the same as the rear filler panel.

Thank you everyone for your input!
I will order from totally auto- looks like that is exactly what i was looking for!
I appreciate the ideas of tape and the charger lights. I have an older panel that i could experiment with.
Thank you all very much.

HYCRZR and others,
Totally auto has stopped selling its paints. Wanted to let the thread know.
Back to the drawing board, looking for codes HWYCRZR showed in a spray can.
Still looking for ideas on that one.

Thanks @Custom 880 for the heads up.

Appreciate the link @1970cat
It looks like they have a few different choices.

I think I will ask the guys painting my car if they have a paint code for Mopar taillight red.
I am sure Herb’s would be correct, but it would be nice to have a code.

Im pretty sure they did not stop selling their paints. I think they just stopped selling them directly off of their website.

I will check into this and let everybody know the scoop.

Well Ill be. Seems that the guy who did their paint left the company and struck out on his own awhile back. And this guy has the rights to the paint/formulas.

I believe the vendor @BigAsAWhale linked is the same person I am talking about, but I have yet to confirm it.

No success on a paint code from my paint guy. He suggested I take it to the paint supply store he gets his paint from, and have them scan it. I tried but there wasn’t enough left on it to scan and their aresol machine was broken. Went to a PPG supplier and looked at a few paint chips. There were two colors that were very close but still a little off. More research needed.
