Another wonderful way to cash in on the auto enthusiast crowd... concierge style real estate...

Actually I am just a little jealous... at least they aren't inside the fairgrounds.

If they're willing to pay, why not?
I get worried when things start to go "high brow" that I'll get priced out of comfortable participation... It might even turn into a good thing for some if they sell, maybe some nice accommodations will open up.

I can barely put up with the traffic during Chryslers week. To live there and be stuck in all those event weekend traffic jams from spring until November. No thanks.

Im glad to see things like this, it gives me confidence that people think they’re still going to need a place to park their cars for the next 20 or 30 years at least.
We’ve got this here in Pontiac, MI.

I think the concept is great.....

The location needs to be in Mechanicsburg or somewhere similar in distance. Far enough away to avoid the car show traffic but yet close enough to drive 15-20 minutes to get to the Carlisle fairgrounds.

They don't say exactly where but there is really only one place they can be put, on the grounds of the old Masland's factory on Spring Road:

Interesting concept. It looks like they are building 22 condos for car collectors and if I'm looking at that video correctly, a bunch of other condos with garages for normal people. It's also interesting that they are offering options like lifts and outfitting the garage with tools.

I'm really out of touch with what condos cost, having been surprised at what people pay for a few rooms in an old factory, so I have no idea what the price tag would be. Anyone have an estimate??

Garage space is too narrow X too short as always; HOA, no thanks, they also forgot about the part out field and I guess I wouldn't want to mingle in the 2500 sq-ft. Clubhouse with these Elite-car collectors mentioned in the real estate ad. :D

It's a shame those old Masland factory buildings were all demo'ed, they were kind of interesting.... in an industrial/historic way....... If that's where it is though, they'll be almost in walking distance to the fairgrounds. For those with lots of disposable $$$, they might make a nice second home though.......

I'm trying to wrap my head around the market for these.

Is this just supposed to be a summer home? A place for people that bring multiple cars to the shows? Year round for retired guys with car collections that don't have to live near their jobs?

Matt,
I'm going to the show at the Emagine theater. Rush is one of my favorite "car movies" now.

I kinda like the idea... but I couldn't do it, and might not get along with the neighbors so well either.

I do kinda wish I had bought into the private airfield down south, nice houses, many with hangers and autocross one day a month... maybe not anymore, IDK... but I thought the prices were too high for me before they went ridiculously out of my range.

I bet the fee's are huge... nothing sucks like an HOA.

I might change my mind if I find out they rule that every driveway must have one derelict old car, plus one returning to earth in the backyard.

At one time Masland's was the biggest employer in the Carlisle area. 18 people who worked there died during WW2.

So you guys wouldn't want to pay a mortgage and and additional $500-1000/month for HOA/grounds maint fees, etc????? They also forget to tell you that right behind the Masland's factory site is the beginning of the worst section of town, crime is rife over there.
