Does anyone here know what the correct distributor would be for the 300 Hurst? I'm putting the finishing touches on my engine for my restoration and I'm not sure if my distributor is original or not (no tag). I know the 6 pack cars came with dual points, but I would presume the HP engine would have just came with the single point ignition.

I'm pretty sure I have a dual Point in mine as well; but this should be confirmed by someone else or a parts book.

The HP440 in 1970 would have a single point distributor 3438222 according to the factory parts book.

My 69 440 HP came with single point dist if that helps.

Give me the HP rating, trans and carb I have the info for sure.

Knew this was familiar just looked it up for a FBBo member

ok here we go 3438222 is 10-12 total mech and 9 3/4 -12 vacuum and is for AT/Mtrans, 440 375 hp. the 3438219 is auto trans, 12-14 mechanical 9 3/4 -12 vac and is a 440 350 hp. Both are 1970. These are non CAP, Now there was a dual point option also, Prob be on the build sheet other wise cant tell you for sure.
Hopefully you can find the tag no other way to find numbers for it. Not a inexpensive dist to find any of them. If you do find one make sure all features on the e-vac advance work they are 250+ nos all day long and no guarantee it is good either.

Just thought of this also do you have a solenoid on the carburetor for anti dieseling? If you have any questions I have rebuilt a bunch of these and are fairly familiar with them

What is the motor, carb, trans factory specs and I can look it up, usually the single point those numbers have the e vac and it ties into a solenoid on the carb and when shut off it retards both. Do you have any dist that came with it and also does it have a vac advance like in the picture I posted?

Here are all the 440 dist numbers I come up with for 70. A "E after it is the retard vac advance.

350hp 3438219 E and 3438222 E
375 hp 3438222 E
390 hp six pack 3438314 (IBS4014) manual trans and 2875082 (ibs 4014D)

No selinoid on my carb.
This whole vac retard is sketchy, it is supposed to also have a wire going to a solenoid on the carb, only know of one guy tat has it and the proper wiring for it. No info I can find on it. The FSM's I looked at also not much with it, does not seem to be a CAP thing, it is for anti dieseling on shut off, would love to find something from Chrysler that actually explains it. I do know that solenoid is super rare and when and if you find it you are lucky. The one guy I am aware of got lucky when he bought the right carb for his car (carter) and it had it on it.

Mine is the 375hp engine with automatic transmission. I have the correct carb for it.

so I guess you need the 222 distributor. This is what I mean at least to me I am confused with all of these dam dist. Does your car have a wire going to the distributor vac advance? Actually do you have a FSM for it and does it mention anything on it at all? I wonder if the wiring diagrams show it also.
