I'm looking at replacing the rad in my 68 Monaco hoping to have it look somewhat original. The replacement rad (CU332) has the inlet on the right side where the original has the inlet in the centre. The car is a 318 and it seems like they list the same rad for both big and small block engines. I would like to avoid the flexible upper hose if I could. I measured the original hose and it looks like it may be just long enough although it may have a slight twist. Looking for advice or suggestions if others have dealt with this issue. both the replacement rad and aftermarket aluminum rad has the inlet in the centre.

The issue is the difference between a non AC 22" rad to AC/max cooling 26" rad pictured. You have and require a 22" rad. The 26" will not bolt up properly to your rad support. You can see the top tanks are quite different (rounded verses square profile).

Double check that they're not simply using the same pic for both rads.. .

It usually works out better to have your old unit re-cored, that way you retain the original tanks and any code stampings that might be on them. Keeps the correct appearance and avoids any fitment issues. Cost will be somewhat higher to re-core with the brass core, but it will fit right and last longer.

Absolutely, went the re-core route with mine. Kept the original tanks and the lower without the trans cooler.

Thanks for the help folks. The listing is from Rock Auto and apparently shows the rad incorrectly for a 68 Monaco 318. Oddly it does not list it for a 68 Polara 318. It looks like the 22" is not being reproduced, re-coring may be the best if not only option

I am running into the same issue with my 68 fury (318) I heard that cold case radiators is coming out with a reproduction, but I don't know how well they fit. They have the inlet on the correct side, but are a square top tank and not the round top style. Once I am ready to put my motor back in, I may check into them further. There are very few shops around me to have a radiator re-cored. The only local shop starts at about $500

Most of the square top radiators are 26", your 318 probably has a 22", so the square top is probably not going to help you much unless you are prepared to change the core support.

The one in my fury is a 22", The repo ones are made from aluminum. They are similar to the square top units, but the different indentations in the top tank defiantly make it look aftermarket. It is supposedly a universal for "B" and "C" body small blocks. The one in my 68 fury is very close to the one in my 66 Belvedere (273). I have not taken any measurements to see how close they are yet. Painted black, it may not be that noticeable. I would prefer to keep the car original, but may get one until I can find a decent core.
