Hi.

Does anyone know of a repro source for 1964-66 Imperial floor pans? Considering buying a 66 convertible, but floors are rusted. I could not find a source when I looked.

Thanks--Arthur

I would seriously doubt that anyone makes such a thing. We made our own when I restored my '64. You need a parts car or call Bob at Imperialheaven.com and see if he can provide what you need.

Those look very generic to me. I wouldn't waste time on them. Restoring an Imperial is very different from doing a Mustang or any of the 60s muscle cars. With those, you could probably build one from the ground up with reproduction parts. If only it were that easy with Imperials, especially when they had their own body on frame construction that was not even shared with the lesser Chryslers. However, the chase for the rare and elusive OEM part adds to the challenge and the fun. During the time I was restoring my '64 convertible, I was able to slowly find the correct parts to install every factory option. It took 15 years to find a RED tilt wheel and column for example.

What makes them junk?
This should be a sticky somewhere. If all you care about is rust repair and nothing else you might as well use a stop sign. For the money you get a piece of sheet metal that has some lines scratched in that have no structural value and do not have the shape and strength of a factory panel. The fitment is awful and will require lots of work. You are better off with plain sheet metal for a fraction of the cost.

^This^

We've covered this so many times.. I even tried the stuff myself for a '53 Chrysler and what could be used took more work to fit than if I started from scratch. Half of it just ended up in the scrap pile.

Worse yet are the exterior panels.

As Alan said, you might as well use a stop sign...

I Doubt those floor pans are for an Imperial. I would say they are for Chryslers. The Imp had a different floor stamping. Their listing lists up to 1964 while
The '64-'66 Imp have the same body. Also Chrysler had a new body in 1965.Those floor pans are probably Chinese **** anyway !

I think I'd take Chinese **** over these.

I am in search of a driver side front floor pan for a 65 Imperial 4-dr hdtp (LeBaron). Help. I know Murray Park is out there but I'd like to see if anyone else has one I could help take off their hands. Thanks. Knoxville, TN.
