The price is absolutely ridiculous.. Even for European pricing ... It'll be up for sale for a long time

It’s a beauty accept for the top. It that’s easy to change. How much?

the top is original.
It is just an accident that it faded and the pattern could be seen.
The reason why it was cancelled during the modelyear (code V1M)

These guys from Europe/Overseas are in for big surprise! They are starting to realize they over paid "Big Time" for these cars to begin with an then are going to realize US guys aren't going to pay for Over Seas shipping on a car that is way over priced! Good Luck!

yes, this one is priced pretty high.
But prices are higher here due to many circumstances.
Most guys in the US complain about expensive shipping inside the US.
But we do not only transport it inside the US (to the coast) and then in a container to europe (1000-1800$, it also takes deloading (500-750$) and then transporting it inside europe. Customs and taxes, insurance and all other stuff goes on top.
In example a 6000$ purchase in Utah can turn into a 11000$ car till it is at your front door overhere. Till that point nothing has been done to the car.

We are not in for a big surprise. Old cars get shipped over since 40+ years. And of course they do get resold.
That is why the european market is not comparable with the US market.
Usually no european is expecting any US american to buy a car and ship it back.

Very, very nice. I would have the vinyl roof replaced, though.
Besides that, it seems to need very little.

The asking price is on the steep side, but it makes sure it ends up in a good home.

i was thinking bout that some days ago.
For example, I have to buy parts for a corvette, parts costs me 60e.
Shipping cost me another 25e.
i do not had the choice of the shipping detail, i choose the lowest option ( more than 15 days ... ) and It appears that DHL will deliver the packages, they will charge me another 15e per package... i think it will be 2 packages.
Do you realize ? and it get worse and worse : when i started Us cars, i simply get on Rockauto, buy parts, get shipped with USPS ine couple of days and no additionnal charges. Now, for 60e i have to pay another 50e in fees and unjustified stuff if i am unlucky.

You are right on the prices, a 7000$ car turn into a 11000e ready to go car in europe a nothing done to restore the car yet.
7000$ buy
+80e money transfert fees
+2500$ shipping ( container harbour fees customs.. )
+ 500e to get the car at the harbour to your home
then title to get :
+ 60e for classic car attestation ( + 1 month if you are lucky )
+ 500 to 1000e for a title ( yes !! ) ( + 3/4 months if you are lucky maybe it mill be faster if the future because now eveything is online for titles so there has been a lot of slowing)
+70e for vehicule inspection

then you can start to restaure the car...

you can complain about the prices of cars but they will keep rising. time pass, less cars, high demand that's all.

usually ? never. why would they ?
I think it may occur some times for special muscle cars... but you still got the best cars or enough of choices in the US.

It happens even though not to often.
Several rare Muscle cars (ie 426 Hemi cars) got sold back as well as some Forwardlookers, too. One of my old cars (58 300 D EFI) went back to the US.
Mike McCandless, a Forwardlook enthusiast, has bought and filled a big container of Forwardlook Convertibles in sweden and shipped them back to the US last year.

there will probably the day when a Fuselage C-body will return to the US

Yes I am Frank . I didnt buy it twice for various reasons. I was at Carlisle a in 2015 and some guys were hanging under a swap tent . They asked if I was Polara Dave, I said yes . One of the guys was a previous owner of the Monaco. He , for whatever the reason had trouble getting the money he was asking for it . It killed him to see it go over seas but no one here would part with the cash. Even at the time it took a while to locate an overseas buyer.

The current owner is a member here

Id have to put a Polara grille and tail lights in there thhough

when it was for sale in AZ (before) I considered buying it, too.
But as I am not into 71 Dodge grills and back styling I thought I would have to do the 1970 changeover. But this tx9 black Monaco was a very nice survivor so I knew I had to leave it alone. And I wouldn't want to live with the 71 style. So I decided to not buy it

Is this the car that had burnout video's on YouTube???
