What level of gloss black should I be going for on a dual snorkel air cleaner I'm having powder coated for my 68 LeBaron? Matte seems better than semi, but wanted to check with the experts.

It was not a 440 Dual factory optioned car, but a prior owner had dual exhaust installed. I replaced it with a stainless dual exhaust system and obtained the dual snorkel to complete the application.

Was there any other features to the 440 Dual option? Don't want to overlook something.

I believe that the correct paint for a '68 dual snorkel air cleaner is semi-gloss.

What I found to be an exact match (on my '67 Newport dual snorkel) was the "glossy black GM engine paint". In this case, "glossy" is NOT exactly accurate as it has a satin component so that it's not a hard gloss as outer body paint is. Matches the black accessory mount brackets, too. I sprayed some into a glass bottle, then used an artist brush to do fine detailing underhood. Like on the metal a/c lines that are "black". Everything flowed out pretty well. NO disassembly required.

I don't recall the GM part number, but I believe it's still in the engine paint listings. OR if anybody still stocks it?

I went with satin black powder coat and it looks Very original
It ist too shiny that it looks like it doesn’t belong under the bonnet
Matt will look too old and dull

All 440 Duals appear to have been K code 440s (don't paint the engine orange) with dual exhaust and the dual snorkel. Chrysler Corp apparently said that uncorking the intake and exhaust added 10 hp, upping thhe K code from 350hp to 360hp. The only thing I have been unable to ascertain is if the 440 dual also had the Hp exhaust manifolds.

Yep. Clearly a big difference. I had standard on mine. Had them jet hotted turquoise because the manifolds are the nastiest looking thing under the hood. Now wish I had taken the time to research this a bit more and get the HP manifolds. Won't make that mistake if I ever get my hands on the 68 300 convertible I'm hoping to find for the next project.

Thanks for the tip
I didn’t think they made hp manifolds for the imperials as have been researching extractor systems to suit the twin exhaust set up I have and always ran into dead ends
There isn’t just enough room for extractors

Could be, I just grabbed it off the google.:D
