My Newport has rectangular exterior mirrors on driver's and passenger's side. The chrome on both are pitted and the glass less than perfect.

I see reproductions for earlier years; round mirrors, but not for the rectangular later years. Anyone know of any reproduction ones? If not, can any shops disassemble the mirrors and restore them? I know that option would be quite a bit more expensive.

YES.......

What year is your Newport?
If his Newport has factory mirrors, then it will be 71-78 as those are the years that used the square head like the reference pic (remote mirror and manual were different some of the years). The head for the remote mirror was used all the way to 89 on M bodies...only the pedestals changed depending on application. No repops for these.
Slabby guys are lucky because the C body used the same mirror as the B body, so repops are everywhere.

1972. The driver side is remote, the passenger side (an option on this car) is not. Both are in fair shape but have pitting in the chrome. Don't know how these things come apart to rechrome.

So what new repro mirror is in your Avatar? Looks like my Newport's mirror!

Check Len Dawsons deception pass motor parts. My friend purchased mirrors there about a month ago for his 1974 Newport.I was unable to get in touch with him about price. At the time he felt they were reasonable. If you have the part # it will make things easy checking the inventory. Hope this is helpful. Good Luck

NOS...reference pic. Not mine. Just googled "71 Chrysler mirror". As I said, you are stuck with NOS or re-chrome what you have. No re-pops of these.

If you restore your current ones. You should be able to find a glass shop somewhere local to you to replace the mirror after you have it rechromed.

Might want to do this over the winter if you are planning to drive it this summer. I am guessing any chrome shop will be busy. The mirrors are white metal and not all shops do it and be prepared for the price. They are not cheap to do right.

They must be stripped and then copper laid to get a smooth surface again and then chromed.
