Marble stuck in a vase

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone! I like the first one, thanks FinFury, I can't believe I didn't think of that. I will attempt that soon, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Did you buy it for the marble or the vase?

Truth be told I bought it for the challenge. If I succeed I have a nice vase on the cheap and will feel a very small amount of accomplishment. If I fail I'm out a buck and some time. I like the volcano idea but don't think it would work due to the slowness of introducing the two. I also think the sun is a good idea however any other heat source save for a brief hairdryer treatment is not happening. Thanks all!

OK, my friend does the flea market circuit with his Thrift Store crap.
Bumped into him last night. The marble/vase thingy was mentioned by me. Turns out that the stuck marble in a vase is a marketing gimmick done by vendors to turn a 50 cent vase into a $1 vase. He sees it all the time.

put a pan of water on the stove, dip the very bottom part in the water, and heat the water up while holding it there. Eventually the marble should loosen from the air pressure, then just flip it over.
OR
Superglue a wooden dowel to it, and just pull it out.

Drain the water and put on freezer overnight.
Freezing the vase will actually increase it’s i.d.
A trick question from college physics class.

Solution (jeezes, youse guyz):
Why is holding the marble in? Friction.
What slippery liquid do you have on hand that is so super thin that it is used specifically for it creep rate? Those nut blaster products which are basically ATF and acetone.

Drop some ATF into the neck of the bottle and come back the next day and pop it out like you're trying to get the catsup out of the bottle. Turn the vase over and whack the bottom.

The marble is free! The glue did the trick. Thanks FinFury, and all.

Despite taking this thread over two pages already we still seem to have all the marbles.
