C-Body Holy Grail Restoration Starts Here; 1970 6BBL GT

One is under the rear hood to cowl seal just in front of (or in line with) the VIN tag on the instrument panel on a fuselage at least. The second one is in the left rear trunk lid drain trough in the quarter panel under the weather strip (about the middle of the deck opening). Not sure where the second one is on a wagon though.

Here is the original date code correct 6BBL cast iron intake with early correct part number 2946276 with 8/20/69 casting date.

Correct dated automatic carburetors and correct air cleaner with NOS filter element!

Moving closer,...slowly but surely.

I wonder how it is even possible to hunt down such a special part:elmer:
There must be some serious NSA stuff going on there:eek::eek:

Rare Honda/Plymouth part!

The early casting intake was difficult to find with the correct early date, it took a lot of searching and phone calls. In the end, I found it locally! (thanks Scott). Chrysler changed casting numbers early in production,..so finding the correct number is difficult.

The 6BBL intake manifold wasn't as hard to find as the correctly dated Six Pack 727 Torqueflight; that was really, really difficult to source. In fact I'm really surprised I did find one,...I was just very fortunate to find it.

Thanks for the comments gents.

This arrived from PA today. I’m still surprised that NOS parts exist for these cars.

NOS washer bottle.

Slowly,....but surely....

$625 for a washer bottle? Holy ****..............

I think the most expensive single part will be the GT only NOS 440+6 decal,.....or likely it will be the "Six Pack' 727 transmission.

It sounds "tongue and cheek", but I really did stop accurately counting $$$ spent on the car.

It's not like I have money to throw at something....I get paid by the hour,...it just seemed like the right thing to do....save the car! If I added the costs to date.....I might think twice about this. So financial denial is the cars friend!

Will I see a return on the monies spent?....not likely. I suppose it's about the journey and not the destination. It's about history and what I want to do with my time. I've met a lot of neat people and made friends in the process; hard to put a price on that!

What make a 727 Txsm a six pack version? Something with the carb linkage?

Or are you just talking about a date code?

You can read the previous postings, but the 440+6, 6BBL transmission is unique and different from a 440 HP version. It has different PN, clutch housing, and number of discs, valve body, planetary gears, and weights on the torque converter. Plus a bunch of other stuff I don’t know about. It’s unique to 440+6, as Hemi is to Hemi.
