The only movie I ever saw in a theater with my Father.

Saw that, R.I.P..

I saw it for the first time with my Grandparents on this new thing called "HBO". My grandfather had just replaced his '74 Monaco coupe with a '79 Diplomat coupe, so of course I made an instant connection to the Bluesmobile.

Years later myself and my friends discovered the magic of VHS and watched it over and over.

Still in my top 5 movies to this day.

Can't wait to show it to my daughter for the first time.

" It's got cop shocks, cop suspension and a 440 cubic inch motor that was built before catalytic converters so it runs good on regular gas." - Elwood Blues - That scene sure made us Mopar guys proud.

I am originally from Milwaukee and still visit there normally 2-3 times a year.

That bridge to no where is the Hoan Bridge and has been finally completed in 1998. Spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee downtown skyline especially at night.

Hoan Bridge - Wikipedia

The Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge is a tied-arch bridge that connects Interstate 794 in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the Lake Freeway across the Milwaukee River inlet. Originally called the Harbor Bridge, it was renamed after Daniel Hoan, a Socialist, and one of the longest serving mayors of Milwaukee.

It was designed by the firm Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff and in 1975 won the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Long Span Bridge Award. Although construction on the bridge lasted briefly from 1970 until 1972, it did not open to traffic until 1977 due to public backlash against the planned Milwaukee County freeway system. This halted completion of the connecting roadways and led to the Hoan Bridge being known as "The Bridge to Nowhere."

Its unfinished state was used as the site of a car chase scene in the movie The Blues Brothers. Eventually, the bridge connections were completed in 1998, when the Lake Parkway (Wisconsin Highway 794) opened between the bridge's southernmost exit, connecting the bridge between the Bay View neighborhood and downtown Milwaukee's southeastern tip.

On a secondary note....

One of my good friends (Mike) Newp, which I met her on FCBO years ago, lives in Indiana just west of the area in Chicago that the Blues Brothers was filmed. Mike would be the tour guide to ALL points of significance as a Blues Brother tour guide//expert.

Mike is about 50 years old and has been a Formal expert since he was 16. He is one of the most knowledgeable Formal guy's on the planet. He can even tell you where every wire is located and routed in a Formal and what color it is.

Crazy that it is 38 years old now!!

Took the car for the reunions in ‘10, and ‘11. ‘10 (the 30th) was a great year. Had a great time with some great people.

Got to venture out, and get pics of the car at filming locations. They really did shoot the movie in some real s#itty places! We had a police escort at the church after only being there for 5 mins. LOL

How is Mike doing, Bob? Havn’t seen him on here in quite a long time. Talked a few times with him on the phone a long while back. Real nice fellow.

He's doing good. His daughter just recently got married. I talk to him once or twice a month.
