l figured that was why, I just can't resist poking at Peterbilt lovers. I owned one, nothing to brag about.
I'm embarrassed to say that in my too long career, I never had the opportunity to even sit in one.
But how many here have driven a '57 Brockway? :lol:

How did it compare to the Studebaker Conestoga you used to drive before that ? :p

Never driven a Brockway, lots of old "R" models though. Started in a '63 Fleetstar. I was 19 driving for Alterman Transport in Orlando.

Last good Pete was made in 1995, damn shame in 23 years they have taken all the good out of the brand.
The latest one's have AGM group 31 batteries under the passenger seat, of a offset six pack design ( like a optima battery). The compartment is formed to the batteries, so you can only buy that type, not just any rectangular battery.

To me, it's 1,001% about driver comfort.
Air ride suspension, air ride cab, and top of the line Bostrom.
 
Yeah my 94 had cabmate and bunkmate on it, they worked ok. The Unibilts are nice and would have been great but the HVAC system became a nightmare because they removed the TXVALVE, pressure is then regulated by cycling the A/C clutch and a straight orifice tube (like your refrigerator), works on your fridge in kitchen, take your fridge to Pheonix in August then 2 weeks later idling in Maine overnight, you can see how the system is taxed.
Then the interior changed in around 2000 ( apparently designed by someone who thought that you sit with 100psi in the seat all the time) the only way you can read the gauges, maybe if your 6'8"-7' tall also.
 


The old K100. I've drawn that truck on paper, as a kid, more than I did the 57 Chevy. I use to drag my Dad into the dealerships and collect brochures on it. Lots of useless knowledge, like the size of cabs (110" was the biggest, 86" was most popular with the Aerodyne available in both sizes) VIT interior was button tucked, Splendor interior was rolled (Smokey and the Bandit W900 had that interior), and on and on. Neat stuff. If I had more space, I would get an old semi. 359, K100, B61, W900, GMC cracker box...:)

due to space and being married I have opted for Imperials rather than cabovers...that will be in a different life...
 


I drive I 40 a lot from Gallup to Flagstaff. I see many drivers today with their bare feet or feet in thongs on the windshield. This video reminds me of that. Number one pet peeve, drivers that will not take their trucks off cruise when passing or being passed. I followed some idiot California drivers for over 10 miles ehile he passed another truck at 65 mph! MOVE OVER!!!

People don't realise that almost 100% of the trucks on the road that is NOT OWNED BY AN OWNER OPERATOR (i.e. a company fleet truck or a truck leased from Ryder, for example) are governed at around 65 mph. You can be on the longest, straightest, most lonely road possible in the middle of nowhere and if that truck is trying to pass someone in a beige Camry with the cruise set at 63 mph, he is NOT going to do it above 65. Sit back and turn up the radio.
I would get cut off, brake-jobbed, and given the finger CONSTANTLY because I'm on a 2 lane road locked in unmercifully at 64.8 mph.
Not my fault, douche nozzle.

Stan, I understand your comments and I know that fleet trucks are governed. Just a thought, when I pull my 44 foot fifth wheel, when a truck passes me, I let off the cruise and let him quickly pass me. Common courtesy to others on the road. Just a rant on my part.
