Make sure you read on how to replace the window regulator in the FSM BEFORE you attempt to take the door apart. You can easily lose fingers if you are not careful.

I’m taking her to a mechanic that works on older vehicles for that. We gave them a call and they told us they would replace it for us. I’d be too afraid of hurting the car or myself if I did it. I’m not at all mechanically savvy.
Think about doing this conversion instead.

Here is something you may want to consider and it's only $35. Just plug it into the 8 track and use your phone or ipod.

I'm not a fan of these radio conversions. For me the original sound and functionality of the OEM radio is very much a part of the experience.
...and they're silly. What passes as "music' on broadcast radio is crap, or the same 25 oldies songs. I like some talk shows, but I hardly need high-fidelity for Dennis Prager, etc.
So record you own playlist, store it on a phone and "broadcast" it a couple of bluetooth speakers. A great sound, you're in under $100 at the high end, and you still have the OEM, untouched.
Win-win-win.

Think of that as the "no thanks" button... I enjoyed a Motley Crew tape during my ride... listened to each side once as break from enjoying listening to the machine I was driving... She aint perfect, but its nice to hear stuff working and educational listening to what isn't. About half the cars of my youth never had a functioning radio... or at least it wasn't turned on that often.
Radio and A/C have to work well on all my cars.

Sums up my old car driving experience. I take in the scenery and listen to my car tell me how she's been, how she is, and what she needs and wants. Not knocking those who like a radio, I've never had a need when driving the old cars. I know I will put one in my truck, still don't know how much h it will get used. And now I have a car that will get the A/C restored, and painted too.

Yes I had seen aftermarket radios I just don't want to get rid of anything factory installed. I was pretty excited seeing that my Imp had the optional 8-Track so I'm gonna try and use the tape/adapter and see how it goes. The original owner was an older man and he even bought the car new when he was older. I'm willing to bet he never used the 8-Track, that being said I would like to try and keep everything on that car original as I can even if I won't use the FM Radio as much as the original owners would have.

I had the same setup in my '77 NYB... In fact, I had the Infinity II with cassette and CD player. I hard-wired a second input to the seek-up swith on the circuit board and connected it to the foot-switch (which worked excellent). Now? I wouldn't bother.
I listen to low-fidelity AM (which is better on an analog tuner) and music is either downloaded or streamed. Personally I haven't bothered with the bluetooth speakers, but if I was driving something really primitive in terms of sound quality, like my '51 Imperial, the bluetooth would be my easily-undone audio option.
Watch the video in the link below and look at all the kick-*** adventures the millennials have with these things. They go skiing, climb mountains, launch Chinese lanterns... I might feel bad that mine just sat in the car waiting to play Sinatra for a middle-aged fart.
