after lots of searching found this 73 imperial

I like the nippies as it gives them an extra few inches of bragging rights! hey Doc car is a Canadian car bought a few miles from me in Winnipeg. Will be going to look at a 73 imperial 2 door parts car in the next few weeks but its really quite rusty and not really what I need. I really would like to find some sheet metal too get rolling on this as a nice clean Newport parts car would make a good donor.

I'd be in trouble fitting the 73 in far side stall with bumper guards...it's a foot or so shorter...just barely get 72 in there...my wife would have to park there and I would be sleeping in the backseat.

Nice imp. The 72s & 3s look so massive! Am I missing something here about the derby guys ? Maybe it’s my innocent ignorance because I’m from the New England area because I haven’t seen a c body of any kind for about 20 years now in a derby in my neck of the woods, With one exception of a legendary 67 or 68 imperial or New Yorker (can’t remember what it was cause it was folded like a metal portable frame bed things that you used when you stayed over grandmas. Yet it continued to destroy any late model full sized car that got in its way. Think it lasted like 3 seasons or something ridiculous like that.

I hope you're right...I can't stomach seeing them mashed for that kind of entertainment.

Probably 7 slabs & 3 formals for every 1 fuselage around here. Think the slabs are more popular with the old timers & their boomer children that have great childhood memory’s in them. Fuselage & formal owners get younger old folks tell them about getting lucky or really ****** up for the first time coming of age in a car just like that but a different color stories. Or we got 8 of us to fit in there for a 2hr drive to an Alice cooper show, lol! Plus I think the #s were lower cause they lived their prime in between 2 gas shortages. The mid 1980s thru the late 90’s would have been a great time to hoard these $200-$600 beauties. Motorhome 440s as well. 50cents per cubic inch! Man if we could go back!

An old boss of min who recently passed had a great story of driving around a rotary in the late 70s in his 73 New Yorker. Some sorry *** in a brand new Datsun B210 edged out far enough to dig a bit into his rear quarter until the bumpers locked up. And that was the end of the Datsun. Nearly tore the entire front clip off leaving every automotive fluid spilling out everywhere.

Today's special at McNeedy Dental, a voucher for a free Imperial for one lucky customer. Voucher valid at your Minnesota Imperial Specialist McNeedy Motors.

"Chrysler" removed - thx to Kenny for his wisdom.

Just so you know.... a true Imperial connoisseur never.... ever.... says "CHRYSLER Imperial", it's just in bad taste. Those words are only spoken to the snot nosed kid at the parts store who has no idea what the hell an Imperial is!
I like to keep them guessin'.

In it's day the Imperial was the holy grail of demo cars and often outlawed because they seemed indestructible. Most of what I see at demos now are Ford crown vics and Lincoln town cars. The last of the modern RWD cars, most anything else has been crushed or are too valuable to demo

They are today cherished or in too degraded state for derby guys. It’s easier just to yank the glass out of a crown Vic. Lots of Uber & lyft drivers putting cab companies out of work. Keep using the crown Vic’s!

Nice Imperial this '73, the dark blue had me fooled for a second, thought it was black.
