Hi all, I'm after some advice on in regards to doing some upgrades on my 66 VIP.

It's a completely sisto 383, looking at mainly adding a sweet exhaust note and presence, with a bit more power.

Thinking cam, intake and carb and then the exhaust down the track.

Basically, what recommendations would you guys recommend? I'm thinkinh an Edelbrock performer intake (2186) and Holley 650 cfm Classic carb, but no idea on which cam, or cams to consider. Depending on the cam, I might need to get a bigger carb.

Don't have allot of experience in selecting stuff like this so any advice is helpful.

If it was me I'd reverse your order. Get the duals on first. Then when you do the other work there's only one tuning process. As far as parts - I rana daily driver 383 in a later Newport with a stock '68 4bbl intake and AVS, and a small MP camshaft. But that was in the 90s. There are better cams now.
I would stay with a factory intake and the 600/650 Edelbrock-Carter AVS style carbs for this kind of build, and I'd recommend a cam like the Comp XE256, and you will need to replace the valve springs (and should do seals) at the same time.
