Curious about my paintjob..

Im the new owner of a 67 Plymouth fury, and im not sure if the paint is original or not. Any ideas on how I can find out?

Open the trunk lid, on most cars this has had the least exposure of all....... nice Fury BTW - spent part of my childhood in a '67 Fury - with my favorite roofline!
 
Start with the basics,
Is it the factory color for the car.

Check around all the trim and rubber for signs of masking or overpaint (onto the trim/rubber)
Look in the door jams (hinge area)
I could go on but I would need to know some specifics on this year and model.

Check the fender tag found on the radiator support to find out what the original color of the car is too.
 
Most wouldn't repaint in a classy, subdued color... they'd go for *****-lipstick red or Smurf-blue metallic. Without laying eyes in it, the odds seem in favor of the OEM color.

Could have been a repaint to original color? Harder to tell than a color change. OP questioned if original paint, not original color.

Look at all the trim (window trim, side trim, drip rail moldings, etc.) especially the bottom edges, the window fuzzies, door latches, and rubber body gaskets/seals for any paint evidence from missed masking or overspray. None of those pieces would have been installed by the factory when it was painted.

Not sure what it is, but I see so many repainted cars with painted door latches (a pet peeve of mine). Seems like a pretty easy part to mask off...laziness ?

Very nice car! I love that roof. ‘67s are special to me also. Time for some wheels. If you don’t know the full story on the car, it likely has been repainted. 51 years is a long time for original paint to look so nice.
 
If it's original paint, it'll be acrylic enamel from the factory. AE paints will usually have a unique texture to it, which should match the underside of the deck lid. If it was repainted "back then", there's a strong possibility it might be Acrylic Lacquer, which even if its' polished to a high degree, will usually not have the same "hard shine" of AE paint.

If it was repainted in more recent decades, it's probably two-stage base coat/clear coat paint. Typically, such paint is shinier (like a new car) than AE and especially AL paint, even in the same color.

Match the Data Plate code with what's on the car. Then try to determine what type of paint it might be. As mentioned, "evidence" of color changes or repaints can be found, usually, without too much trouble.

IF it is the original AE paint, there's a good possibility that it'll be a little thin in places, if it's been waxed very much with "cleaner waxes" or polishing compounds have been used on it a few times.

From my observations, that "gold metallic" paint on mid-'60s Chrysler products tended to fade VERY little and maintained it's gloss pretty well, with a wax job every so often. Even in TX.

The chock is just there for a safety measure, wouldn't want my baby to roll into the street.

My car was smurf blue once...
