Thanks for all of the input. Here are a few answers to your questions. Please visit our site for what is currently available @ http://www.accurateltd.com. We do not manufacture or supply exhaust components for applications not currently listed including 1976 models. We are currently working with a manufacturer that may supply us with correct hangers as our previous manufacturer had a major facility fire two years ago losing all inventory and dies. To answer the question on cost. “C” body exhaust systems require more materials and labor than any other Mopar application. 6 flanges instead of 2. These are not universal muffler shop style flanges but correctly stamped and formed pieces that we have manufactured for us. Tubing is heavy gauge aluminized material. Included is factory style hardware including manifold lock clips , slotted nuts ,correct clamps and severe service gaskets. As mentioned in previously we ceased “C” body
exhaust systems for some of the reasons stated above in addition to the low volume in demand.
We were selling over 1000 (1k) A , B, and E body exhaust systems to one “C” body exhaust system at the time when we ceased the supply. Between the recent demand not only from our individual customers but from our dealers we decided the go back into production for the most popular “C” body exhaust components and exhaust systems. We do value your input and business so call anytime if you have any questions @ 541-672-2661.

What is the future plan for 74-78 C-bodies?

If the answer is nothing.....we understand.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for offering the C-Body systems again. Regarding the 69 HP 440 exhaust, I'm sure they're correct but I want to ask so there's no misunderstanding when I order. The 69 HP 440 exhaust pipe is not two pieces. It should be one solid pipe from manifold to muffler, 2-1/2" Dia. tailpipes are the same as all other 440 dual tailpipes. 2-1/4 Dia. Is this what's offered in the HP kit? Also, I purchased a pair of the C-Body dual exhaust mufflers as discontinued stock a couple of years ago while you still had some in stock. Is it possible to get the 69 HP 440 "system" less the mufflers?

Thanks!
The one piece headpipes you are referring to were used on the CHP Polara vehicles. The headpipes are 2-1/2” then sized down at the rear to 2-1/4” o.d. For the mufflers. The headpipes also have clearance flats installed at the trans crossmember. We will have these next on our list for reproduction and prices are yet to be determined. Also the tailpipes were welded two piece units being 2-1/4” at the muffler end and 2” on the exit. These are already listed on our website.
Regards, Tom

Ok everyone, I have a question. I know that the 69 Fury had different part numbers for the HP exhaust pipes than the 69 Polara, my suspicion is that it's because the Polara was longer. My research says the Polara was 220.8" long on a 122" wheelbase whereas the Fury was 214.5" long on a 120" wheelbase. Can anyone verify this?

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Actually the one piece headpipes I'm referring to were used on any 440 HP equipped car, not just 440 HP CHP Polara's. The problem comes with the length of the car. The Fury/VIP was slightly shorter than the Polara/Monaco. With the 440 HP exhaust, as you pointed out, the exhaust pipe is necked down just before going into the muffler which means it can't be cut down 6.3" to fit the Fury. As you can see below, they both used the same tailpipes and mufflers which means the length difference had to be made up in the exhaust pipes which would account for the different part numbers. If you start making the Fury Exhaust Pipes, please let us know.

The 1969 CHP Polara uses the 2962138/9

Hi Alan,

Yes, that's what I was pointing out in the third screenshot. Plymouth (2962 136/7), Dodge (2962 138/9) Chrysler (2962 170/2856 038)

Tom reached out to me in PM and is trying to see if there's anything he can do for me. Good Guy and not often you find a company that will go to those lengths.:usflag:

I bet if he thought about it he could identify the spot that needed the change in length.

Alan
I already have. This is absolutely an Ask Me How I Know Situation. Found this out with the above system in my Fury.
Remove exactly 2" from the exhaust pipe in front of the muffler and the tailpipe perfectly snakes around the rear axle, shocks, etc, and dumps out right where they should be.

Thanks everyone! I've been PM'ing with Tom and he confirmed that the Dodge pipes are indeed 2" longer. My pipes are 80" and the Dodge pipes are 82".
