New to me 78 NYB on its way but please Don't tell my wife

Did a little research and found this, not sure if it is helpful or not. I think it may be wrong going by what you have experienced?

If you are working with an existing system or performing your own conversion, many of the individual components are interchangeable. The pick-up coil is common to all applications, while the reluctor is different between 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Each of the applications listed above uses a different distributor. The stock ECU is interchangeable with any application, but Mopar Performance markets several replacement units for high performance applications.

May just get it to keep in reserve.

Freon ordered, new manifold seals ordered, new dryer ordered, new pickup ordered.

Holding on muffler until pickup gets here.

LH vs RH..... where have I seen that before????

Why would Chrysler make two differently indexed pickup coils?

Dave? Could it be different spark control computer timing settings? Curious.
Marine?

I believe you but, how so?
They just seem to have a high fail rate like a lack of quality control. IE Condesers. About 1/3-1/2 fail when I check them hot. The pick ups are a bit better 1 in four seem to fail hot also.

Are the newest ones still Mallory guts?
I would personally rebuild a old one or have you do it. The old big weight dist. are steady and reliable.
Appear to be Mallory. They do have their advantages though being abel to limit total advance. The earlier MP are pretty much a stock OEM distributor with a curve nothing special at all. I have a bunch of them. Except having a Tag saying it is a MP don't spend more money on them.

New muffler....neighbors complained. New project approved by new client today. Took a few minutes off to celebrate...

Old muffler... all the girls came out to check if I was still alive after it went. Ears still ringing.

Friends at Caribe muffler took care of me right away. I had called ahead to order a Dynaomax 17748. Should be a bit quieter going forward.

I'm so glad my neighbors never complain about anything. Well, not to me at least!

I would replace the expansion valve (H-valve) since you have it apart. Easily get one at a low cost at AAP or AS. I think around $15 for a 4 seasons one.

EV was brand new 6months ago and working fine. Only getting the dryer out of habit... every time I have to open the system.

Do you know something I don’t??? Are they a weak link in the system? I’ve heard they go bad.
