Reinstalled fan, pulley, and belt
Test drive: still a great driver. Only time and more miles will tell if it has stopped using oil.
Also, there's the need to drop the oil pan to clean out broken valve seal material.

Back in the air:
Upcoming Repairs:
Oil Pan Gasket
Motor Mounts
Trans Pan Gasket (new one leaking)
Fuel Hoses Leaking at fuel pump

Trans: shift linkage dry at seal.

Bolts at left front where trans pan leaking

Trans Pan: removed and cleaned again
20181023_153723.jpg

Pan: check with straight edge and .010” feeler gage. Left front corner bent down slightly. Otherwise straight. No dimples at bolt holes.
20181023_152800.jpg

Bend up slightly in vise. Gap under straight edge closed.

Hope that with a little Permatex at smiley face area, and elsewhere to keep gasket in place, no more puddles under trans after car sits a day or two.

Pan Bolts: after wire wheel and Gunk Brake Cleaner
20181023_164634.jpg

Didn't make huge amounts of progress, but at least I'm started.

LOL

What can I say, but I like speed and convenience.

Had to work fairly late today. The trans pan mounting surfaces got a good sanding with 240 grit sandpaper and the mounting bolt holes got several sprays of Gunk Brake Cleaner. I left the boltholes to dry overnight.

I also pulled the leaking fuel hose between the fuel filter and the fuel pump. I left the filter to drain into a small tub overnight.

this 72 fury fades in comparison to your 72 beauty . i finally received the pink slip for my 72 fury i bought earlier this year . in his moving , he had lost the paper work . so he went to the dmv and got a new one for the car . now i finally own it , lol . still thinking of parting it out .

Still love your car. Hope someone gives it a 2nd chance. I was disappointed that I couldn’t convince Stan to buy it. He could’ve gotten some help doing the work and come up with a car that he really loved.

well it will be for sale one way or in pieces .
I guess the Aussie sale fell through. A friend in Chicago just parted a 57K miles 1974 Monaco because he couldn't sell it. What a shame that people don't have good taste enough to want to preserve these cars! I guess Americans are too busy buying rice burners and putting ridiculous sounding exhaust under them.

ya , he just stopped talking to me . guess his funds won't enough for the car n trip to aussie land . its a fairly clean car , needs someone to love it . got a clean tittle , checking on reg now . i was told its on a pno , calif can be stupid on back fees . thinking it could make the difference between a driver and a parts car . got a few rice burner fast n furiuos rides next door , can't wait for a street meet . american rides rule , lol .

well i just got off the phone with calif dmv , this guy never put the car on a pno (planned nonoperation on the reg ) what a bozo ! so calif dmv wants $692 dollars to put lic/reg on the car . thats to f....n much for this boy to put this car on the street . so its parts or export only .

You have to pay back registration to sell out of state too?

must states follow calif's deal on reg i think . so you could just sell your cars paper to a bud to get away from old owed fees . it might be okay going out of country on the waving of the fees . but we're not talking about a car that is a bank breaker . its just a plan 72 fury 3 , and its not number matching , or a stick car . its going to make a great parts car . not wrecked not rusted way .

Trans pan: Permatex Ultra Grey both sides of NAPA 1-7957 rubber gasket. Hope to alleviate the puddles from sitting a couple days. No leaks while driving or sitting 5 hours. Shift seal, torque converter seal, and dipstick seal are OK.

Had a nifty plan to use my cherry picker to lift the front of the engine and make motor mounts easier, except that my 3-ton hydraulic jack gave out. No lift. Anyone know where to get another?
