Found this in my glove box

I am assuming it is a noise filter for my AM radio. Does the connector go to the + or - on the coil? I am also assuming the base goes on the coil bracket?

Body is mounted via coil bracket bolt. Wire lead connects to coil positive.

It goes on the + side of the coil. The unit in the photo is dented and damaged, you should replace it. I suspect it was in the glove box because it failed.

Standard still makes them RC1 is the part number if needed

That one looks to be dented. I don't think I would use it if that is the case.
