I've had my car for about a month and I went to reverse this weekend in the dark for the first time and noticed it was really dark.. so I replaced the bulbs, but to no avail. So I tested to see if I was getting power to the bulb socket, I was not.. so I went looking for the reverse switch on the trans. (Its a torqueflight 727 by the way). I only saw one thing there, which ended up being the thing that doesn't allow the car to be started unless it's in park or neutral, which is functional, the car starts with it attached and doesnt start without it attached. Does anyone know where the reverse switch is on these? Or if it is built into that, but the reverse part can break separate from the whole unit? Or if that circuit is on a fire or something? Any and all help is much appreciated! Thanks alot!

Alright awesome! Mine is column shift, I'll check it out tonight. You don't by chance have a picture of what I should be looking for do you?

One of two things fail
A. The peg on the switch (red part in this picture) breaks off
B. The peg on the column breaks off
make that three
C. The switch is just worn out.
