In my modern vehicle with the blade style fuses they make a convenient power splitter where you take your fuse out, plug in this special fuse splitter that has a wire coming out of it so you can add power to an accessory very easily. Tried doing internet searches for how to do something similar with the glass tube fuses. Coming up empty handed. Anyone know of a easy accessory to purchase that does the same thing? Or in general how to tap out of those style fuses for accessory power?

Turn the fuse block over and look at the back.... This should make sense to you.

They’re referred to as a “fuse tap” or “piggy backs” for glass fuses. I use the taps with a spade style connection for a power source. I think I bought them at Autozone the last time. A quick google search found several suppliers also.

i'm sure they still make the spade blade that fits the glass fuse barrel for taking power it . kinda looks like those others shown .

The danger is tapping off the side of the fuse where you bypass the fuse instead of after the fuse.

Then you essentially have created an unprotected circuit which will NOT pop the fuse if shorted. Fire.

If you turn the fuse box itself over and look at the underside (as Big John suggested), you'll see male spade terminals that piggy-back on the fused (or output side) of a number of those circuits.

Use a female spade terminal on your feed wire for whatever accessory you're installing, and plug it onto an open male piggy-back terminal on the underside of the fuse box. Fused and safe.

I can provide a pic if you're not sure what I'm describing.

I know in 69 there are two terminals (male 1/4" slip) on the fuse block, one pre-ignition, one post.
If you use these you will need to add an inline fuse.

If you use the fuse taps shown above I like to put them on the buss side (source, before the fuse) and use an inline fuse so that Item is fused separately.

I have put a extension/tap in the radio power connector and used that for a switched power.

Rear of the cigar lighter is a good source of pre-ignition power.

I prefer not to use the fuse taps and look for alternate sources and use an inline fuse.

Buy an auxillary fuse holder such as the 4 fuse holder from Dorman w 1/4 inch slide connectors. Run power to it w a good size conductor from your battery and PROTECT THAT w a fusible link. Now you have 4 or more new circuits available. EASY! Piggy-back slide connectors work in a pinch, but be careful.
