My recent CL acquisition, and first C body. 1969 300 in stunning Triple Pickle. Rust-free in the quarters. But, as i said in the earlier transport post, the trunk and front floors (at least) are a different story. Surprise! I dried them out and hit them with a wire wheel to reveal several rust-throughs. Paint looks good at 20 feet, up close shows many chips, discolorations, etc, but it's definitely livable. The vinyl not so much. The area at the bottom back glass is doing some bubbling and splitting from two or three quarter sized places, and is my primary concern as i think that's where my trunk water issue stems from. Seems to run, drive, and stop well, with the exception of a leak in or around the PS sector. I'll be going through as time allows, doing some documenting and a lot of leaning on the collective knowledge here. At present, priority is dealing with the water leak issues and stopping the rust. All advice is welcome and appreciated.

Very early car with that 3,724 sequence number. Congrats!

I have a triple pickle as well, really it is a beautiful combination that is to never be repeated

I'll say I never really appreciated F5 until I saw it over 19' of fuselage. It seems to get a bad rap, but I really like it as a snapshot of the era and a nice, chill counterpoint to the high impact colors and muscle madness that most people associate with 60-70s Mopars. Which lines up pretty well with what I want the 300 to be at the end.

I am contemplating rolling it back to a Double Pickle, with matching F5 paint on top given the possible rust issues. But that's a question to answer after the old vinyl comes off.

Have any interior pictures? :)
We can’t all have rust free Arizona cars. Its still a very presentable and handsome looking ride.

Do the hidden headlamps work? Most cars when they’re headlamps are open during the daytime - it’s indicative of a blown motor.

Nice catch on your first C Body!

"Pictures or it didn't happen!"
I'm going to get some interior shots tonight or tomorrow. It's rough as well, with the rare option vinyl/duct tape buckets, water-soluble front carpet, headliner on your head, etc... But pluses, the panels look pretty good, seat structure seems pretty solid, dash doesn't appear to be a total loss.

The headlamps were already disconnected when it was delivered, and connecting them didn't get any response. They move freely with the manual control, so I'm leaning toward the motor being dead, but that's speculation. I don't have the general electrical or model specific knowledge to troubleshoot yet.

Good luck with your new 300. I happen to like the green. I grew up in the late 60's and 70's and that color was very prolific on cars as well as appliances.

Have a 69 300 vert. myself. Get a factory service manual on DVD will be the first thing to do. Legendary Auto Interiors are the way to go for seat recovering, simple and easy. SMS can do restore on the door panels. You have a solid restorable car to start with. A very solid dash. Armrests are the same as B body Dodge Chargers, ABC Parts and Vans Auto carry those. PM me if you have any questions.

Congrats on your first C Body. Glad you are keeping it green. Rust looks fairly minor given what we have up here where they spread salt. It's a beauty. Please keep us posted as you work on it.

gotta love that "perfect" matching green tape on the seats!!! done by that resto shop we all love: The Tape Guys

In the 1980s I had a yellow 69 300 convert. White interior, 440, console auto, power windows. A real monster.

True story: at a stop light my buddy and I dropped the top, stood up, dropped our pants & shot the poor souls behind us a nice "BA". Then we took off when the light turned green. Oh yes we were nuts and hopefully nobody saw them either!

That 300 is in the appropriate shape to pick away and restore as you drive, congrats on your purchase!

Wow, nice catch. Sort of reminds me of the day I found my Newport. I wanted to find a 2dr fuselage coup car w/big block motor and I was scoping driveways and peoples garages and everything in between before it finally crossed my path...almost literally.

I had been sharking the local area and Craigslist both pretty heavily, but had been late to pretty much every one that looked worthwhile. I think I got this seller on the phone before the digital ink on the ad dried.

Yeh..not surprised. The previous owner of my car told me there were three or four calls for it during the time it took for me to come back up to where it was and drive it home. I think I just got lucky. Right place at the right time sort of situation.
