This story starts about 20 years ago. We lived next door to a retired man and his wife who had three 1966 Chrysler’s. His wife drove the 2 door Newport and he drove the 4 door 440 New Yorker. He also had a red 4 door Newport he bought new in 65 and drove to Oregon with his family in the late 60’s. I even rode with him a couple times in the New Yorker. We moved away when I was a teenager but always kept in touch. He always knew I loved those cars as every time we would go visit him I’d want to go to the pole barn where they were stored and check them out.

This week he called me and told me he had a person make him an offer on the New Yorker. He told that person he had to call me first because he knew I wanted them. I drove out on Sunday with my family and checked them out. I made him an offer and bought all three including two extra parts cars. I couldn’t be happier! Can’t wait to get them home and start cleaning them up and getting them back on the road. The last time they were on the road was 2004.

The white 2 door Newport is a 383, auto, AC car, the white 4 door New Yorker is a 440 auto car and the red 4 door Newport is a 383 car.

The parts cars are covered in moss and they still don't look that bad.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your score. That is quite a find. There are a lot of knowledgeable people around here that are more than willing to help answer questions you may have. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress.

That's the way to jump in with both feet - now watch another 4 cars come available. (All 66 and all cheap, too..):welcome:

That is very possible... seems like once I purchase something like this and friends find out other things happen to become for sale.

I also bought the 73 Chevy C20 with a 454 and Camper sitting next to the Chrysler’s. Couldn’t pass it up either. A time capsule.

Great story! Congratulations. I have a soft spot for '65 & '66 New Yorkers. Never seen one with a transparent green steering wheel. That is sweet!
And it doesn’t even appear to be cracked!

He shoots and scores!
That is some haul you have there. Those look like they won't need much to get into driving condition.
When you get them running take the previous owner for a ride. I bet he would get a kick from it.

JEEEZ, bud. That's a haul and a half right there. Congratulations and welcome to the site!

Looks like power seat on the green interior.
While it's very tough to pass up an opportunity like this, it will cost plenty of time and money to get them on the road.
Good save though, hope you have the room to store them inside.

Fabulous. It’s great to hear this gentleman called you before selling. So many times they might forget or just take an offer in front of them. You have a good friend there, and now you have some gorgeous cars.

Thank you all! I couldn’t agree more! He is a really good dude and treated me well. Now the fun process of getting them out, cleaning them up and seeing what it’ll take to make them road worthy again. Can’t wait!
