no typical cost is $120,000
the car with 1700 hours was not the typical example
I forgot where i was posting so nothing adds up here
I am in error for not anal-yzing it for you

Guessing the rate at $80/hr. (cheap), that's $136,000 in labor alone. That's what my math says. Something doesn't add up.

Because the poster usually embellishes and makes things up. Don't expect the truth, consider the source .

It always adds up here by guys that keep it straight without the fictitious tales.

My reply was to your statement
Typical restoration cost from drop the car off and leave it a while - to turn the key by a reputable shop is $120,000.

That was told to me at the big show by the owner of one of the well known reputable mopar restoration shops.

The mopar they had on display had 1700 labor hours in it.

Nothing anal about my summation of the statement which was one big discontinuous run of words.
If this then that.

thanks for the heads up on this. This is why I was avoiding Craigslist. Not sure what they can do or sell, hopefully potential buyers are prudent and realize the car is not in France or Quebec and that the scammer doesnt have title to it. Besides making a visit to the car, a phone call is always the best thing to do.

This is why original cars are so sought after.Garaged and seldom used. Not sure many fury GT,s are around like that.I saw a Mercury Marauder on ebay recently that was stunning. It,s a similar type car.Big body, big engine.Hope it finds a deep pocket collector.B.B

Cool car, expensive to love and restore

Is the correct vinyl top available for this car?

Not sure on light colored vinyl top

$120,000 to do what exactly and to what exactly???? Any breakdown and detail of the work to be done? Doesn't seem feasible for many muscle cars that are worth less than half of that in top condition. The two estimates I had to do this Fury were a small fraction of that amount mainly because a number of things are done or are not in too bad of shape. The rust/channel repair was going to be a large proportion of work though.

My apologies.
