Was this the year Vega that had all the engine problems? Remember some of them were oil burners at 20k. GM tried to spray some sort of steel coating on the aluminum block so that the rings would have hard metal to seat on. Was an epic fail and all of that design engine burned oil and lots of it. Can't remember what years were effected. Seller is dreaming at that price.

I've had a couple of these cars and I think the engine problems were from the first couple years. By '76 I think they had a steel sleeves, at least the one a friend had was. We took the head off and there they were. I rebuild a couple for myself and they had to be sleeved. After that they were a good engine!! Really fun cars with a V8 under the hood. I build one of them and that's the way to go with these cars.
