You know him better than we do. I understand the business aspect of things as I also know that cash flow in the restoration business (from customers paying for things AND the business paying for supplies) is important. Thanks for your clarifications

So I am just curious how much money can you get for this car parted out and how long does that take?

Seems to me with all the effort to try and part it...that time could be spent putting it back together. It would be a real shame if a car like that got parted out.

What did he pay for it when he bought it from your buddy saforwardlook?

Dave

:thankyou:

300F. Rare car.Cross Ram 4 barrels.Yeah.I understand. The chance of making money on most restored cars is thin.Better finding an all original good condition car, detail it,tune it,tread it,Put it up for sale.Just body work and a pro paint job could run 10to30 thousand.More depending on type of paint.Metal work. Most people lose on restos.People should pick a favorite model and keep it.Unless they have deep pockets.B.B

I understand he paid twice what he is listing it for. So it isn't easy for the seller at all - he was in a tough spot and this is the outcome as I understand it.

To me this looks pretty much diasassembed already:

I wish I could buy it. There is only one ’70 Monaco 500 in Finland. Too bad I already have one project, which was not nearly this far parted out, and even then it has taken almost three years to collect the bits and pieces needed to put it back together.

I understand the vendor’s point.

If only there was a way to cheaply get this to the east coast... That would be a nice/fun car
I shipped a car using a company called Four Corners for under $1000 from New Jersey to New Mexico. It's not like you need white glove service or a closed container. It costs more to drive a car across country, although with this one you'd be pushing it.
:D

SOMEBODY SAVE IT!!!!! HEH.If i had a place and tools i,d buy it.It,s unique and all the chrysler cars will have to forgive me.Heh.B.B

However that may be true... but this car would already be pushing my budget. If I did it I would be going in on it with a friend.

Shipping a running car across country is one thing, shipping a car that isnt running has its own complications, but shipping a car that is already in pieces across country is a whole other bag of worms...

Too cool of a car to part out, hope someone here puts it together again, even as a driver for now.

I've never made any money on it....

This guy lost my respect when he parted the 65 or 66 300 letter car.....

Ooooh.Parting a letter car, unless it,s an accident victim, bent frame and so on,is a bad idea. They usually made somewhere between 1 to 3 thousand cars. Some years it was in the 100,s.B.B

if the seller was willing to put the doors on and glass back in, at least the parts could be loaded inside for shipping purposes. shipping a roller isn't as bad as a roller plus a box truck of loose parts.

I agree, some needs to go back together for transport

From what I understand, the car is now missing a lot of its original parts that someone has bought. And the nos/new parts are up for sale. So it is a gonner. Sorry to have to say.
