Hey guys:
Started to install the new gas tank in my '66 300 and found one j-bolt missing entirely and the other very, very frozen. I started looking around for a set, of which there are plenty. However, most say "68-76 , will fit '67 C-body non-wagon ONLY".
What's the deal? The bolt I cut off looks just like all the ones in the pictures...90-degree bend and about 3 inches long. While I'm asking, is there ANYTHING else needed to get the tank in besides the 2 straps I have and the two bolts?
The fuel system on this car was 95% junk after sitting for 27 years in a barn. The tank rotted out, both steel hard lines got water inside, froze and split, plus the rear was plugged up. The only thing salvageable was the filler neck and it wasn't in great shape.
Thanks so much.
