umm, i have a rover 3500 SD1 v8...... but a good thing is that the rustiest corroded nuts, bolts n screws can be undone by hand.....

yep they were sold in the states and canada for 1980.
big sales flop, british leyland had no $ for marketing for the rover and the tr8.....
and the build quality was beyond awful.
previous owners ( and myself) have pretty much cured all the probs.
i changed the north american spec bumpers to early euro ones, and the 3.5 v8 motor is being upgraded to a 4.6
( and got a hood badge, thanks for the link!)

Would you be able to change to the original Euro-style headlights nowadays, from a legal point of view (not knowing if they'd fit your front panel in the first place)?

In the USA, no, the DOT imprint was never on them (Department of Transportation)... IDK about Canada. That doesn't stop lots of folks from swapping to Euro lamps on old Mercedes Benz cars here in FL. or questionable Chinese custom lighting from Ebay on their late model... but lighting standards are Federal and Euro headlamps lack the three nipples that allow Hoppys Headlight Alignment Tools to be used.

Not much '69 wrenching lately. But I've spend hours and hours in the freezing cold shop parting the '72 out to get room in my shop again.

I assume no one over there will buy parts and ship them back to the US but maybe you find it interesting to browse my "Parts for Sale" Website anyway. Any maybe, just maybe onme ot the other european will see that link any buy something. ;)

The car is absolutely rust free, so I can salvage a lot of sheet metal from it! But I'm still trying to find a rust free dutchman panel. I had no success here in europe so far.

The Frame is stripped entirely and ready for recycling. Too bad it's bent because there is virtually no rust. Just a little surface rust like on every other part. Way better condition then mine. I wish I could use it...

But I am really happy the brake parts are all mint! I will use them on my car for sure!

I think that stub frame could be fixed. Possibly welding in a front cross member from a rusted donor.

Before I throw it out, I will measure it for sure! The exact measurements are in the FSM. Maybe, if it's streigth I could using this part of my frame and weld it in.

But I have to see if it is worth the effort. Mine is fine as well, it just has a lot of "rust scars"
 
I don't think they are familiar with metal that thick. Especially not in Germany.
I'd measure them both, mounting hole to mounting hole, especially on the diagonals... that should tell you if it's been bent, other than the visible damage. I'd bet a torch and big hammer (maybe a slide hammer with a hook too) could get that close to perfect again, and I don't think it would make a significant difference in strength or performance of the frame in a future crash.
