I always liked these cars...called the owner, he had it ten years and it came from Dakota's. I'm awaiting more pictures. My initial gut says 12k max to be a "good buy".

1969 1969 Mercury Marauder X100

drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 103000
paint color: red
size: full-size

A rare luxury performance vehicle. This 375 horsepower, 429 cu.in. V8 vehicle with an X100 package includes vinyl top, blacked-out trunk, Kelsey Hayes wheels, power steering, power-front disk brakes, power seats, power windows and air conditioning. This vehicle is in great condition and runs excellent. It's time for this awesome vehicle to make new memories with a new owner. If you interested in being the 4th owner of this vehicle please email.

Has everything I like: a coupe, big 429 V8, hideaway headlights, fender skirts, disc brakes, A/C, nice power options, great wheels and nice color combination. If it only had a Pentastar:poke:. If the car is as good in person as the pictures look,I am sure you can negotiate the price, but I don't think it's that off base, the Marauder was a pretty low production model and you never see them.

Really like it. To me, it has a squared off Dodge Charger look.

"blankin" love these "blankin" Merc Marauders, all due respect to all the Mopars I also love. :)

yes, this looks like is a nice one .. 15K feels tall, but NOT too much. Owner should get the "dramatic lines" shots (3/4 rear, full rear, side profile, etc.) tho to remind folks what he;s got. X-100 might even be a console car?

I am not a buyer tho .. wish i could get one though (that'll take a lottery win). even without skirts.

Low production only because there were no orders. One, not a lot of people interested in a very large muscle car. Two, it was a Mercury and Mercury was always second fiddle to Ford in everything starting in the 60s especially advertising budget.

I have a soft spot for These models as well, the blue example Looks way better without the Fender skirts and Vinyl top, they just don't belong on a "sporty" car concept in my book, especially the skirts.

Drives me crazy when I see a car with a vinyl roof and mag wheels.
Man, that's like eating an Orange with your Steak ...

The most likely ponycar for me would have been a Javelin I guess, but I never was too enthusiastic about this breed. That Kind of Buick-like sweepspear kills the Cougar for me as well as the Buick Skylarks of that year.

Believe it or not a friend here in Ireland has a green example (non X-100 model). Came over from England about 15 years ago. Will ask him for a photo of it

Saw an orange/black version "dumped" on the side of I-75 in Detroit circa 1990, and have wanted one ever since.

They even offered it in burnt orange to try to win Dave over.

a good friend of ine in town has a brown 69.
There is a red one with the black tail treatment locally, too

I've never seen that model before. He should have some rear photos in the ad. When I read "blacked out trunk" I thought, "big whup"? Thanks for adding photos all! That is a striking feature!

In 69 I would have taken a Cougar over a Mustang in a heartbeat.

Problem is that is the only Mercury people would take over a Ford.

As for sporty road car. Maybe in a straight line as it is only different body panels over a Marquis chassis with maybe a 1" front sway bar instead of the 7/8" bar. Same rear suspension of upper and lower traction bars, coil springs, and track bar. Ford pretty much kept that combination in the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis except for a rear sway bar in place of the track bar.
