There's no need to be insulting. I have done my research, and asking questions is a part of that process. I am hoping to get some input from someone that has faced a similar situation with their '65. Before you reply to a post, maybe you should ask yourself if you actually want to help in some way. If the answer is no, just don't do it. Only small people build themselves up by tearing others down. And for all that, the link you posted doesn't work!

It originally had a 383 with AC and a 26" opening. At some point, the 383 got replaced with a 340. After we got the car (restoring for my wife), we thought about getting another 383 but decided to keep the 340 as it is a nice engine and she isn't concerned that it is not all original. I have spoken with several suppliers and am just trying to narrow down my choices, as there are several. This my be a Christmas gift this year. I really hoped for some input from someone that may have a Sport Fury. Thanks for the MyMopar suggestion, I will check that out.

I went with the CU526 from Spectra. It fits the original mounting holes and the ports are on the correct side for the 340. Originally for a '71 Dart. A shroud is also available.

Me and my wife like to work on these old cars and bring them back to life, my son helps too, a great hobby. It would have been nice if the car had the original engine when we bought it but the 340 will work nicely. Not really going for the all original show car, just a nice cruiser. She fell in love with the car and I told her we would make it work. It has been a bit of a challenge but we have made a lot of progress. Got the engine and tranny out, all the chrome off, and off to the body shop in a couple of weeks. I need to get her to post some pics of our progress. It's been three years on this one so far.
