OMG>How on earth did you come across those coronets with 426.The interesting thing was chrysler would put a 426 hemi in a huge variety of cars. But one with a 4speed,wow.Museum cars ,really.Congratulations.Make sure you know exactly where you want those cars to go in your later years.wow.wow.wow.B.B
They really did not want to put hemis in public cars but had to comply with NASCAR after DQ in 65. 1st year was 66 and needed at least one per dealer of various types to comply. Other than a few convertibles and FBI 4 doors, these L code (low price) post cars are the rarest. Ironically they all begin with a convertible chassis with the torque boxes and large rear seat bulkhead. They tried to kill the power with different carbs, intake and cam but they still BAD. Youngest daughter is a redneck hunter/gearhead. She wants them and Bama trooper Javelin 1 of 3 remaining 72s in 71 purchase order. Another cop survivor.

I would love to find a Javelin and or AMX to bring back to its home state. The Police car would be the ultimate.
That's the plan..My daughter just moved to Birmingham area and will drive this daily. Quite a story on these cars. Dealer had to fulfill the 1971 PO with 12 1972s painted in the 71 color. This is one of the three known to exist. One is on display in Montgomery State building and other at Talladega speedway I think. She will have to get a permit to operate it with the light and decals. Alabama folks my age remember seeing these things. I have had it over 100MPH and the analog siren is a joke. May line it up with this Mopar squad and see who is stud. Lightweight 401 vs sled 440.LOL

In 1977 I traded in my '69 Thunderbird Coupe for an '73 AMC Ambassador. It was never a squad but was blue in and out with the 401 and Certified speedo. Boy did that thing snap when needed. I put an open top foam air cleaner on it to make it howl. My first job was at a Clark gas station that closed at 11 pm. I would kick it down on the way home going too fast for my street. That car went to someone a year later that claimed the head gasket went out. So is your daughters car a reproduction or original police package car.

The vinyl door graphics on my '70 Fury III ex-Washington State Police car are now for the county I work for. I placed them on refrigerator magnet so they can be removed when not at a show. I restored the car to clean top but the color blue must be covered up as its only used by law enforcement here. Didn't they use and electronic siren or they use the old growler.

Came with a small "growler". Javelin has incorrect seat covers, missing an interior trim piece (which I can find), rigged fuel system, neutral safety issue IE minor stuff. It will relocate to Bama after we fix everything AND she has a garage spot.

Nice Fury you have there, I think the high running hours help these motors. The 77 motor I have opened up fixing a flat cam has tremendous heat scaring under valley pan. BUT has great compression and bearings look brand new with 98k on the ticker. Inside has a painted P and you can sip tea out of a couple of lifters. Parts on the way. Motor/tranny for sale on this board. FYI

Santa stopped by Eric's paint booth on the way back to the POLE. Did a little spray job and dropped off 4 black powder coated slotted 15X8 rims. He also told me to go up on the price since one for $9k unrestored/painted is out there. Cant wait to put it back together and see how she looks. WHO DAT tomorrow and start wandering back. Phish

WHO DAT!!!! Car has been painted for weeks and I can't get to it. Since I have extra bezels and grill, do we stay stock or go with flat back grills/bezels and tail light surrounds. Or just do both?

those javelins were some sexy cars bitd.
still are,i think they look better than the camaros, the 71-74 gen.
funny part too, most of the cops had no idea what it was.
in several pursuits the car was called a camaro,a mustang and some other names.
they couldnt catch me back then, and it was a quick car.
it wasnt until i actually got caught in Benson street racing and banned forever,
that they found out what kind of car it was

73 amx javelin 401/4 speed white w black stripes.
i still remember that night...
some jackass in some import had been revving it and making moves when hed come past.
the last time he did that,i came out of the parking lot about 4 cars behind him,
and then passed all of them in 2cnd at wot and then saw the cops literally running down main street towards me..
whoops..time to go hide, lookit that side street duck duck turn duck.
only to get cornered at the local gas station.....doh!

they come in,theres a small crowd of people n im hoping im gonna slip out and bolt.
negatory houston.
whos driving the white camaro?
noone answers..
they go back out of the store, come back in..
okay,whos driving the white mustang?
noone answers....
they start back out the door, stop, and say.
whos driving that white car out behind the store?
o...well that would be me..
they descended....lol :elmer:
