help please... i am looking for a diagram that would provide me with the wiring hook-ups that go to the steering column of a '65 chrysler 300...i disconnected everything several months ago, but drew myself a diagram so i could hook everything up when i was ready to, but we had a pretty severe storm in july, and since i work in a carport, all exposed papers got swept away (new roof, new ceiling in office & half of hall, new flooring, etc., etc.) so now that i'm ready to re-attach the steering column again, i 've forgotten where everything goes..so does anyone know where i could find an exploded view of the column wiring?

You can print one out here, jholst.net Chrysler 300 Owner Supplement Page. The best way to go is with one of the laminated diagrams; shows all the wiring in the original colors from the factory, well worth the money. Just do a google search, they are only about $20.

Sorry to hear of the interruption to your project. One thing to remember is that each wire is color coded. Either in the base color of the insulation plus a "tracer" stripe color. On BOTH sides of the connector, usually. Also, the related connectors are usually "matched pairs" in configuration. In other words, not all the same. There has to be some differences so that they can't be put together wrong on the assembly line . . . unless somebody does something terribly wrong.

The noted wiring diagrams/schematics will have each wire color code noted, so you can find them easier and know what they go to. The Chrysler wiring schematics might look a little onerous at first, but are really VERY good to follow.

Hope this helps,

They are also much more accurate and have greater detail, especially with accessory circuits.

The nice thing about the digital versions is that you can print out the page and then highlight the wring run that you are working on.
