Get your check book out - 1968 426 Hemi for sale on eBay

A neat story, but some of the facts aren't quite as I remember them, be that as it may. I was under the impression that the RatRoaster intakes were more drag racing items than NASCAR, along with the Holley Dominator carb. The "devil" will be in the supporting documentation, if ther is any.

Certainly a historical piece of Mopar Racing's past. Only thing is that when the repro blocks and crate engines came out, most of the "value" of something as the item on eBay seemed to decrease. The available market came to be a more niche market than not (i.e., somebody that really needed the sort of engine for "period correct" race vehicle restoration).

Good luck to him on the pricing . . .

How many times do they have to mention "Hemi" (besides the five instances in the title)?

For $36k I'd think there would be a better solution for grouping plug wires besides plastic zip ties. Also, there's generic hardware store fasteners on the intake and oil pan. I'd like to see some nice recessed head style bolts before getting out my checkbook.

Overall, though, that's some good eye candy!

IMHO this engine should be clean enough to eat off of inside & out for this kind of coin:rolleyes:

What in the hell is it doing in Australia?

In 1968 I can't remember there being a Dodge team out of South Carolina. Maybe one. Certainly not a large enough team to have enough factory Hemi's delivered that they would forget one in the back. And if I remember correctly, the Dodge and Plymouth Hemi's were listed seperatly by NASCAR.

Not restored to a "1968 NASCAR Spec" condition- Roller lifters were a MAJOR no-no. Just ask Bobby Allison!
